      Advice: Soriano left the game in line for the loss, but Jo Adell's grand slam off the bench spared the right-hander from a second straight defeat. Soriano has allowed four runs in five of his outings this year, including three of his last five starts.       Advice: Munoz's scoreless streak is up to six innings, and he allowed just one run over 13.1 innings in May while converting all seven of his save chances during the month. The closer is 12-for-13 in save chances this year. He's been hard to hit with a 1.42 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 35:8 K:BB over 25.1 innings as the Mariners' top ninth-inning option.       Andrés Muñoz fired a scoreless ninth with two strikeouts to pick up a save Friday against the Angels.

      Advice: Muñoz needed just 15 pitches to get through the outing with 11 of them going for strikes. The right-hander has been absolutely dominant as of late with a 1.42 ERA and 12 saves for his troubles. To say he’s not in danger of giving up his closing gig is quite the understatement.       José Soriano gave up four runs in his six innings of work in a no-decision Friday against the Mariners.

      Advice: Soriano allowed seven hits with a couple of walks while striking out three. this could have been a much worse outing based on how things went early on, as he allowed three runs in the first before settling down. The 25-year-old has now given up four runs in back-to-back starts, but in both of those outings there have been quality moments for Soriano.       Miller was charged with a blown save in Thursday's 6-5 loss to Tampa Bay in 12 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit and three walks over two innings. He struck out four.

      Advice: Jose Siri's game-tying homer in the bottom of the ninth was the first given up by Miller this year while also resulting in his first blown save in 12 chances. Despite Thursday's hiccup, it's been an excellent start to the season for the 26-year-old Miller -- his ERA now sits at 2.08 with a 0.88 WHIP and 51 strikeouts, the most among qualified relief pitchers, through 26 innings.     • Miller blows first save of the season Thursday
      Mason Miller blew the save against the Rays on Thursday.



      Advice: Miller entered the ninth inning with a 4-3 lead and allowed a solo home run to Jose Siri. It was his first blown save of the season. Miller had basically been untouchable all season as he converted his first 11 saves. His ERA is now 2.08 on the year. Miller remains one of the most dominant relievers in all of baseball and would likely remain in a closing role if traded to a contender later this year.

      The Mets placed Diaz on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a right shoulder impingement.

      Advice: Left-hander Josh Walker was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to take Diaz's spot on the 26-man active roster and in the New York bullpen. After blowing ninth-inning leads in four of his last five appearances, Diaz had already been expected to get a break from closing duties, and his injury will only further delay his opportunity to resurface as the Mets' preferred ninth-inning man.       Miller gave up a hit and a walk while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday to record his 11th save of the season in a 3-0 win over the Rays.

      Advice: The flamethrowing righty continues to dominate. Miller has yet to blow a save in 2024, and his 52.8 percent strikeout rate is the highest in the majors among pitchers who have worked at least 20 innings. Trade rumors are swirling around him, not surprising given the state of the Oakland franchise, but Miller would likely be the best closing option for any team that acquired him.
