He was tagged for nine hits, including homers from Shea Langeliers and Brett Harris, before his calamitous outing came to a close.       Robert Suarez fired a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday against the Cubs to notch his 12th save of the season.

      Advice: Suarez got the call to guard a three-run lead in the final frame and neeeded just 11 pitches (seven strikes) to spin a flawless frame. The hard-throwing 33-year-old stopper has converted all 12 of his save opportunities this season to accompany a microscopic 0.55 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 15/4 K/BB ratio across 16 1/3 innings (15 appearances).       Brice Turang went 3-for-4 with an RBI on Wednesday in the Brewers’ loss to the Royals.

      Advice: Turang capped off a three-hit performance with a run-scoring double off Royals reliever Tyler Duffey in the ninth inning, but wound up being stranded in scoring position representing the potential tying run. The 24-year-old speedster has made the most of his opportunity this season, emerging as Milwaukee’s everyday second baseman, posting an .826 OPS with two homers and 14 steals through 34 contests so far.     • Tosses two innings of relief
      Turnbull threw two innings of relief Tuesday against the Blue Jays, walking one but allowing no hits or runs.

      Advice: Turnbull was expected to pitch in some sort of piggyback setup with Cristopher Sanchez, but Tuesday's game didn't entirely fit that pattern. Sanchez threw seven innings of one-run ball before turning it over to Turnbull in the eighth with the Phillies up 8-1. Turnbull's outing therefore wound up looking much more like traditional low-leverage relief work than a proper piggybacking arrangement.       Lopez came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Red Sox, allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits and four walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: The four free passes were a season high for Lopez, who tossed 54 of 91 pitches for strikes before exiting. The right-hander has failed to last six innings in either of his last two outings after beginning the season with four straight quality starts, but he still sports a 1.53 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 36:14 K:BB through 35.1 innings.       Advice: De La Cruz got a hold of one against Yoshinobu Yamamoto in the sixth, but the game was already well out of reach. De La Cruz has been producing well as of late, tallying nine hits, six RBI and eight runs over his last eight games. He's been one of the Marlins' most productive hitters all year thus far, slashing .263/.311/.454 with seven homers, 20 RBI, 21 runs and an 11:41 BB:K in 164 plate appearances.       Reynaldo López allowed one earned run and six hits over 5 1/3 innings in the Braves’ 4-2 win over the Red Sox.

      Advice: López was solid through five innings, but three walks in the sixth – one of which walked in the Red Sox first run of the night – led to him being replaced by Aaron Bummer. He would only be charged with one earned run before the inning finally ended. López scattered six hits across his outing, and pitched his way out of a dicey first inning to leave two runners stranded.
