    • Tosses another bullpen session
Kershaw (shoulder) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: This was the second bullpen session Kershaw has thrown since undergoing shoulder surgery last November. The southpaw hurled 15 pitches in his initial bullpen Friday and increased that amount to 20 pitches Tuesday. He's throwing only fastballs at this point, but Dodgers manager Dave Roberts indicated that the results have been "really encouraging" so far. Kershaw could next advance to including breaking pitches in his mound work and ramping up to more pitches as he slowly works his way back to game action. The future Hall of Famer isn't expected to make his season debut for the Dodgers until after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:48 pm

    • Clubs grand slam off bench
Raleigh went 1-for-1 with a grand slam and an additional run scored during Tuesday's 10-6 win over the Twins.

Advice: Raleigh replaced Seby Zavala in the seventh innings and came to the plate with the bases loaded and the Mariners down two. He delivered his first career grand slam to give Seattle the lead and score Mitch Garver, Luis Urias and Dylan Moore. Raleigh reached via walk in his other plate appearance and eventually came around to score on a sac fly by Mitch Haniger. In 32 games, Raleigh has swatted nine home runs and owns a .769 OPS. • Cal Raleigh hits pinch-hit grand slam vs. Twins
Cal Raleigh went 1-for-1 with a grand slam in the Mariners’ win over the Twins on Tuesday.

Advice: Raleigh came up clutch for the Mariners. Called on to pinch hit in the seventh inning with the bases loaded, Raleigh sent his ninth homer of the season deep into the left field stands for the fourth pinch-hit grand slam in Mariners history. The righty vs. lefty matchup paid off for Raleigh, who made the most of a breaking ball Steven Okert floated over the middle of the plate. Raleigh is hitting just .213 on the season, but leads the Mariners in homers and RBI (20). Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:55 pm

    • Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) throws bullpen session
Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday.

Advice: It was Kershaw’s second bullpen session since undergoing offseason left shoulder surgery. The 36-year-old future Hall of Fame southpaw is targeting a midseason return to Los Angeles’ starting rotation mix and remains a viable option for fantasy managers on a per-start basis, when healthy. • Receiving Tuesday off
Raliegh is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins.

Advice: Raleigh started the previous four games and will receive a day off after going 2-for-15 with two homers during that stretch. Seby Zavala will take over behind the plate and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:12 pm

    • Reds activate TJ Friedl for Tuesday return
Reds activated OF TJ Friedl from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Fantasy managers that held onto Friedl, today is the day. The 28-year-old, who had a breakout season last year with 18 homers and 66 RBI while slashing .279/.352/.467, returns to the Reds’ lineup after being on the injured list since the start of the season. He’ll be a major plus to the Reds’ offense and fantasy managers who have him rostered, but expectations may want to be simmered for at least the first few days as he gets back to major-league speed. • Officially activated
Friedl (wrist) was activated from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday.

Advice: Friedl has been cleared for big-league action after missing the first month and change of the 2024 campaign with a fractured right wrist. His reinstatement aligns with the start of a three-game homestand against the Diamondbacks, where he'll likely replace Stuart Fairchild as the Reds' primary center fielder versus right-handed pitching. In four rehab starts at Triple-A Louisville, Friedl went 4-for-16 (.250) with three doubles, three runs scored and a pair of RBI. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:07 am

    • Grounds Cardinals in quality start
Manaea (2-1) earned the win over St. Louis on Monday, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out one batter over six innings.

Advice: Manaea didn't have his swing-and-miss stuff Monday -- he induced just four whiffs and recorded only one strikeout -- but that didn't stop him from keeping the Cardinals' bats mostly under control. The southpaw cruised through five scoreless frames before running out of gas in a three-run St. Louis sixth, but he was able to finish the inning to notch his first quality start since his first appearance of the campaign. Control issues have kept Manaea from going deep into contests this season, so it was promising to see him issue just one free pass -- his fewest of the campaign -- against the Cardinals. • Sean Manaea gives up three runs in no-decision
Sean Manaea yielded three runs over six innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Cardinals.

Advice: Manaea was cruising along in this one until his final frame when the Cardinals struck for three runs on a trio of hits and a walk. It was backstops Willson Contreras and Iván Herrera that delivered run-scoring hits in the frame and wound up forcing the veteran lefty to settle for a no-decision. He finished with just one strikeout and only handed out one free pass. He’ll bring a respectable 3.31 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 31/19 K/BB ratio across 36 1/3 innings (seven starts) into a tough matchup on Sunday against the division-rival Braves. Rotoworld Monday, 8:47 pm
