    • Logs another quality start in win
Houck (7-5) earned the win against the Phillies on Thursday, allowing three runs on eight hits and no walks with five strikeouts over six innings.

Advice: He tossed three scoreless innings then loaded the bases and surrendered a three-run double to Kyle Schwarber in a rough fourth. Houck rebounded with two more scoreless frames to earn his fifth straight quality start and received plenty of offensive support, as the Red Sox tagged Aaron Nola for eight runs. Houck has now allowed three or fewer earned runs in 13 of 14 starts and has been one of baseball's biggest breakouts so far in 2024. On the season, he owns a 2.08 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 89:15 K:BB in 91 innings. Houck lines up to start next week against the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:40 pm
    • Ryan picks up fifth win against A’s Thursday
Joe Ryan allowed two runs in seven innings and got the win in the Twins’ 6-2 victory over the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: Ryan gave up three hits, walked one and struck out five. The win was his fifth of the year. Both of the runs for Oakland came on a Tyler Soderstrom two-run home run in the second inning. Ryan hung a splitter to Soderstrom, but it was basically the only mistake he made on the night. It was Ryan’s 10th quality start of the season. His ERA is now 3.24 on the year. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rays at home next week.

Advice: Houck gave up eight hits, walked none and struck out five. The win was his seventh of the season. Houck has allowed more than three earned runs in a start only once in 14 starts this year. His ERA is now 2.08 on the season. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Blue Jays on the road next week.

    • Sharp in third straight win
Irvin (5-5) picked up the win Wednesday, allowing one run on six hits and a walk over six innings in a 7-5 victory over the Tigers. He struck out five.

Advice: The right-hander continues his breakout campaign, winning his third straight trip to the mound while delivering his fifth consecutive quality start. Irvin boasts a 3.00 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 69:15 K:BB through 81 innings on the season, and he'll look to keep rolling in his next outing, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Diamondbacks. • Jake Irvin strikes out five in victory over Tigers
Jake Irvin was terrific in Wednesday’s victory over the Tigers, allowing just one run on six hits over six stellar frames.

Advice: The 27-year-old hurler piled up five strikeouts on the night while allowing only one base on balls. The lone tally against him in this one came on a solo blast off the bat of Matt Vierling in the opening inning. Aside from that, he dominated the rest of the night. Irvin generated eight swings and misses on 98 pitches in the ballgame, registering a strong CSW of 34 percent. He’ll carry an impressive 3.00 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and a 69/15 K/BB ratio (81 innings) into Tuesday’s matchup against the Diamondbacks. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:40 pm

    • Collects save Tuesday
Stanek pitched a perfect inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Stanek earned the win Monday after the Mariners won in walk-off fashion, and he was able to protect a lead Tuesday. The right-hander has pitched back-to-back days twice in the last week, while Andres Munoz, who recently dealt with a back injury, has taken the mound just once in that span. Stanek has had mixed results as a setup man in 2024, posting a 4.21 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 28:10 K:BB over 25.2 innings while adding five saves, 10 holds and two blown saves. • Ryne Stanek earns fifth save for Mariners
Ryne Stanek notched his fifth save with a perfect ninth versus the White Sox on Tuesday.

Advice: Andrés Muñoz (back) was obviously unavailable again tonight. The Mariners are calling Muñoz day-to-day, but if that changes, Stanek will be worth using in mixed leagues. Rotoworld Tuesday, 9:53 pm

    • Bounces back with win Monday
Stanek (4-1) got the win over the White Sox on Monday, allowing two hits and recording three strikeouts over a scoreless ninth inning.

Advice: Stanek got a couple of days to rest his arm and clear his head after taking a loss against the Royals in a 24-pitch outing Saturday, and the veteran was able to bounce back during a laborious but successful ninth inning. The right-hander worked around a pair of singles he allowed to Oscar Colas and Nicky Lopez by recording swinging strikeouts of Korey Lee, Corey Julks and Luis Robert. Stanek then became the pitcher of record when Cal Raleigh slugged a walk-off grand slam in the home half of the final frame, capping off the reliever's sixth scoreless effort in the last seven outings with a victory. • Dylan Cease strikes out eight in win over A’s
Dylan Cease won for the first time in a month after holding the A’s to one run in six innings on Monday.

Advice: Cease surrendered eight hits, but only Tyler Soderstrom’s homer in the second did any damage. He struck out eight and walked one in moving to 6-5 with a 3.36 ERA. The eight strikeouts gave him 101 for the season, making him the third pitcher this year, after Tyler Glasnow and Garrett Crochet, to reach the century mark. Rotoworld Monday, 11:31 pm
