    • Kyle Bradish solid for five in suspended game
Kyle Bradish pitched five innings of one-run ball before Tuesday’s game against the Cardinals was suspended.

Advice: Bradish won’t be involved in the decision in the 1-1 game. He allowed four hits, walked one and struck out six in lowering his ERA to 2.41. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago
    • Robert Gasser fails to record strikeout vs. Fish
Robert Gasser was charged with five runs (four earned) over six innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Marlins.

Advice: On the heels of a pair of impressive outings to open his big-league career, Gasser turned in one of the more bizarre pitching lines of the season as he managed to allow five runs, despite not allowing a home run or walking a batter. He also didn’t record a strikeout. Weird. We’re not totally sure what to make of it, but we’d bank on the strikeouts coming back when he squares off against the Cubs on Monday in his next outing. • Jon Gray exits Tuesday start with groin tightness
Jon Gray was removed from Tuesday’s start against the Phillies with right groin tightness.

Advice: That explains why Gray was finished after just 75 pitches (50 strikes) over five frames in an abbreviated outing. The 32-year-old righty was charged with two runs on four hits with four strikeouts and three walks. The severity of the injury is a bit murky at the moment, but there should be some clarity on his status at some point in the near future. It’s unclear whether he’ll be ready to make his next start on Sunday against the Twins. Rotoworld Today, 6:38 pm

    • Exits start with groin tightness
Manager Bruce Bochy said Tuesday that Gray was removed from his start against the Phillies due to right groin tightness, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Gray was able to get through five innings before exiting his start, allowing two earned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four batters. Bochy didn't specify how severe Gray's injury is, so it remains unclear if the right-hander is at risk of missing his next start -- tentatively scheduled for Sunday in Minnesota. • Worst start of season versus Angels
Valdez (3-2) allowed eight runs on 10 hits and a walk while striking out three over five innings to take the loss Monday versus the Angels.

Advice: Valdez followed up his start of seven shutout innings versus the Athletics with a dud Monday. He was doing fine until the Angels rallied for seven runs in the fifth, including three-run home runs by Nolan Schanuel and Logan O'Hoppe and a solo shot from Jo Adell. Valdez is now at a 4.32 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 34:12 K:BB through 41.2 innings over seven starts this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road in Seattle. • Framber Valdez gives up three fifth-inning homers
Framber Valdez was pounded for eight runs and three homers in five innings by the Angels in Monday’s loss.

Advice: Valdez allowed just one run on four groundball singles through four innings tonight, but the fifth was a vastly different story. All three homers came in that inning, and it was really pretty amazing that he got to finish the frame while allowing seven runs. Valdez had a 2.88 ERA going into the fifth tonight, only to finish the game at 4.32. It’s the first time in his career that he’s allowed three homers and the second time that he’s allowed eight runs, with the other instance also coming against the Angels in 2020. • Turns in quality start
Gilbert allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk over six innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out one during the win over the Yankees.

Advice: Gilbert coughed up two runs in the first inning but was still able to settle in for a quality start. He produced a stellar 1.69 ERA through his first seven starts but has seen that climb to 3.20 after allowing 14 runs over his last 16.2 frames. On the bright side, two of those outings were quality starts. Gilbert recorded only one strikeout with five whiffs, with both setting new season lows. His next start is lined up to be in Washington this weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:53 pm

    • Gilbert gets quality start and no-decision Monday
Logan Gilbert allowed three runs in six innings and got a no-decision against the Yankees on Monday.

Advice: Gilbert recorded only one strikeout and allowed eight hits and a walk. He battled in a tough matchup against the Yankees on the road. This was his lowest strikeout total of the season by far, but otherwise Gilbert has been fairly consistent. He’s had eight quality starts in 10 tries this season. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Nationals on the road on Saturday.

    • Will require several rehab outings
Phillips (hamstring) is expected to make 2-to-3 rehab appearances before being activated from the 15-day injured list, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Advice: Stephen estimates that Phillips is about a week away from a return, though how the right-hander fares during his rehab outings will ultimately dictate his exact return date. He's been shut down since May 3 after suffering a right hamstring strain. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:29 pm
