    • Dominant in win
Gausman (3-3) picked up the win over the Tigers on Thursday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out 10 over six innings.

Advice: Gausman had his best stuff Thursday, striking out a season-high 10 batters while not allowing a hit until the sixth inning when Javier Baez tagged him for a leadoff single. The right-hander induced 18 whiffs on the night and struck out at least two batters in three different innings. He's now won his last three decisions (spanning five starts) and has given up one run or fewer five of his last seven outings. Rotowire.com Today, 4:10 am

    • Gausman strikes out 10 in win Thursday
Kevin Gausman allowed one run and struck out 10 in six innings and picked up the win in the Blue Jays’ 9-1 victory over the Tigers on Thursday.

Advice: Gausman’s 10 strikeouts were a season-high. The win was his third in 10 starts this season. He allowed just three hits and two walks against the hapless Tigers offense. The 33-year-old right-hander is set to face the White Sox on the road next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:20 pm

    • Rebounds for 14th save
Holmes earned the save in Thursday's 5-0 win over Seattle, allowing two hits while striking out a pair in 1.1 innings.

Advice: Holmes came on in relief in the eighth after Nick Burdi loaded the bases. He'd induce a grounder off the bat of Luke Raley for the final out before working around a pair of singles in the ninth to earn his 14th save. It's a nice bounce-back effort from Holmes, after he allowed four runs in a blown save against Seattle on Monday, the first four runs he's allowed this season. Overall, the 31-year-old right-hander sports a 1.64 ERA with a 1.23 WHIP and 25:6 K:BB across 22 innings this year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:46 pm
    • TJ Friedl hopes to take batting practice soon
According to The Enquirer’s Charlie Goldsmith, TJ Friedl (broken thumb) “continues to progress” and hopes to take “batting practice soon.”

Advice: TJ Friedl is back to hitting off flips as he works back from a broken thumb. Once he is able to take batting practice, his next step will likely be live at-bats and a rehab assignment. It’s possible that he could be back around mid-June but it will depend on how his thumb feels while taking live swings. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:15 am

    • Hitting flipped pitches
Friedl (thumb) has progressed to hitting flipped balls in the batting cage and hopes to be cleared to take batting practice soon, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Friedl is making a rapid recovery from a fractured left thumb, an injury he suffered just 11 days ago. If the outfielder is able to take batting practice soon, a brief rehab assignment should follow shortly after. He would appear on track for an early June return from the 10-day injured list. • Sitting out Thursday
Raleigh is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Yankees.

Advice: Raleigh started the first three games of the series against the Yankees and hit a home run in Wednesday's 7-3 loss, but he'll get a breather for Thursday's afternoon tilt. Seby Zavala will draw the start at catcher. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:16 am

    • Slugs 11th homer
Raleigh went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 7-3 loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Raleigh leads all major-league catchers with 11 homers this season, though he hadn't hit one out since May 11. This was his only hit over 10 at-bats across the last three games after a stretch in which he went 9-for-30 in an eight-game span. Raleigh is up to a .219/.299/.458 slash line with 28 RBI, 24 runs scored, four doubles and no stolen bases over 174 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:33 pm

    • Merrill Kelly heading for follow-up MRI exam
Merrill Kelly is scheduled to undergo a follow-up MRI exam on his injured shoulder this week to see how he is progressing.

Advice: Kelly has been shelved since mid-April due to a right shoulder strain. Hopefully after this week’s exam, we’ll at least get some sort of timeline on how long it’ll be before we see him on a big league mound again. The 35-year-old hurler had registered a 2.19 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and a 21/6 K/BB ratio over 24 2/3 innings through his first four starts. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:41 pm

    • Cal Raleigh tags three-run homer in loss
Cal Raleigh went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run on Wednesday in a loss to the Yankees.

Advice: The Orioles offense was quiet all night besides Raleigh’s blast. He golfed a changeup from Luke Weaver, which has been one of the best individual pitches in baseball this season, just barely over the right-field fence for his 11th long ball of the season. It would’ve been a homer in fewer than half of the league’s stadiums, but this was the only one that mattered. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:12 pm
