Charlie Blackmon homers, doubles twice in loss
Charlie Blackmon homered and doubled twice in a 5-2 loss for the Rockies to the Pirates on Friday.
Advice: It comes in a losing effort, but it’s another big offensive game for Blackmon. The veteran outfielder was hitting .224 on May 26, and that number is now .266 after the three-hit night. The homer came off David Bednar in the ninth, and Colorado trailed 5-2 after the solo blast. Still counts. Blackmon’s a name to keep an eye on based on how he’s played since the end of May, and because he gets to play his home games in a very silly park.
