    • Throws 74 pitches in return
Dunning (3-3) took the loss Wednesday against Philadelphia, allowing five runs (three earned) on four hits and a walk over 3.1 innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Dunning hadn't made a start since May 4 after enduring an IL stint due to a strained rotator cuff and was limited to 74 pitches overall. He looked rusty, giving up a solo homer to J.T. Realmuto in the third and sending a pick-off attempt toward second base into the outfield to allow Nick Castellanos to score from third during the second frame. Dunning should remain on a pitch count for the next start or two as he gets fully stretched out. The 29-year-old is tentatively scheduled to face the Diamondbacks on Tuesday. • Earns fifth win
Bello (5-2) allowed three runs on four hits and four walks while striking out six over six innings to earn the win over the Rays on Wednesday.

Advice: Bello completed six innings for the second time in eight outings this season, and he earned his second quality start in the process. The Rays scored three times in the second inning, but the Red Sox offense rallied for eight runs over the fifth and sixth frames to give Bello plenty of support. The right-hander is now at a 4.04 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 37:13 K:BB through 42.1 innings. Walks typically haven't been an outsized issue for Bello, so there's not much reason for concern that he was a little wild Wednesday. He's projected to make his next start on the road versus the Orioles. Rotowire.com 40 minutes ago

    • Marcell Ozuna’s three-run blast lifts Braves in win
Marcell Ozuna went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer to power the Braves to a 9-2 victory over the Cubs on Wednesday.

Advice: Ozuna’s incredible season continues with another home run on Wednesday. This one was a three-run blast off Jose Cuas in the seventh inning to extend the Atlanta lead. It was Ozuna’s third homer in four games and 15th of the season while slashing an outstanding .324/.405/.641 with 46 RBI across 195 plate appearances. Rotoworld 47 minutes ago

    • Brayan Bello tosses quality start, wins
Brayan Bello allowed three earned runs and four hits in a win over the Rays on Wednesday. He walked four and struck out six.

Advice: Bello keeps with these good but not great starts. The win and QS are nice, but there’s this next level Bello is still trying to reach. If he gets there, it will be on the heels of his improving slider. He showed a willingness to throw it back-foot to some of the Rays’ left-handed batters, but they only chased one out of the four he threw there. He’ll take a 4.04 ERA into his next start on Tuesday in Baltimore. Rotoworld Today, 6:41 pm

    • Dane Dunning chased in fourth inning
Dane Dunning allowed three earned runs in 3 ⅓ innings on Wednesday against the Phillies. He struck out four and walked one in a loss.

Advice: Dunning’s first start back off the IL was not great. He allowed a pair of unearned runs early after an error by Nathaniel Lowe and then a throwing error of his own. Then JT Realmuto tagged him for a solo home run before Edmundo Sosa smacked a three-run shot after Dunning let two men on and was pulled. While a surprising source of strikeouts so far, Dunning has allowed plenty of hard contact and is walking more batters than he did last season. He’ll look to get right next Tuesday against the Diamondbacks. Rotoworld Today, 6:34 pm

    • Stifles 'Stros in Wednesday's win
Anderson (5-4) picked up the win Wednesday, allowing one run on six hits and two walks over eight innings in a 2-1 victory over the Astros. He struck out four.

Advice: The veteran southpaw needed 95 pitches (65 strikes) to deliver his third straight quality start and seventh of the season, and Anderson's eight frames marked his longest outing of the season. He'll take an impressive 2.52 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 44:23 K:BB through 64.1 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against the Yankees. Rotowire.com Today, 5:37 pm
    • Sitting against southpaw
Busch is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: With a tough southpaw in Max Fried on the mound for Atlanta, the lefty-hitting Busch will retreat to the bench. Patrick Wisdom will replace Busch at first base. Rotowire.com Today, 3:43 pm

    • Alex Bregman goes 0-for-4 against Angels
Alex Bregman went 0-for-4 as the Astros cleanup hitter Wednesday to finish hitless in the series against the Angels.

Advice: Bregman had three homers in two games against the A’s early last week, prompting the Astros to return him to the cleanup spot, but since then, he’s 4-for-31 with one RBI in eight games. It’s hard to imagine Bregman remaining this bad, but he’s long posted subpar BABIPs and his typically averagish exit velocity numbers are worse than usual right now. The rebound might not be as strong as most would hope. Rotoworld Today, 2:22 pm

    • Tyler Anderson goes eight in defeating Astros
Tyler Anderson limited the Astros to one run and six hits over eight innings in the Angels’ 2-1 victory Wednesday.

Advice: One of those hits was a Victor Caratini double that very much should have been an error on Jo Adell in right field. Anderson had his best velocity of the season today, averaging 90.4 mph with his fastball. He’s now 5-4 with a 2.52 ERA, even though his strikeout, walk and groundball rates range from mediocre to bad. Rotoworld Today, 2:21 pm
