    • Detmers allows five runs in loss Saturday
Reid Detmers allowed five runs in 3 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Mariners on Saturday.

Advice: Detmers gave up four hits, walked four and struck out three. He continues to struggle as he’s now allowed at least four runs in seven of his last eight starts. Detmers hasn’t won a game since winning his first three starts of the season. His ERA is now the worst it’s been all year at 6.14. The 24-year-old left-hander is set to face the Astros at home next week, but he’s best left on the bench until further notice. Rotoworld Saturday, 7:32 pm

    • Framber Valdez spins seven strong in win over MIN
Framber Valdez gave up just one hit on two runs while working seven innings to get a win Saturday against the Twins.

Advice: Valdez did issue two walks, but he was able to keep the self-inflicted damage to a low roar while striking out four. The southpaw has gone seven innings in three of his last five starts, and he hasn’t allowed more than two runs in any of those outings. There have been some clunkers for Valdez in 2024, but the good has mostly outweighed the poor. Rotoworld Saturday, 5:02 pm

    • Goes deep Wednesday
Ohtani went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Wednesday's 10-3 win over the Mets.

Advice: Ohtani knocked a run-scoring single in the fifth inning and capped his performance with a two-run blast in the eighth. The long ball was his first since May 17 and pushed him to 14 on the campaign, eighth-most in the majors. Ohtani has added 38 RBI, 41 runs, 13 stolen bases and a .330/.395/.615 slash line through 248 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:17 am

    • Earns second straight win
Garrett (2-0) earned the win Wednesday over the Padres, allowing a run on six hits over five innings. He struck out two.

Advice: A Ha-Seong Kim homer in the third inning was the lone damage against Garrett, as the left-hander earned a second straight win -- he's allowed just one run on nine hits over 14 innings in that span after allowing 11 runs in his first two outings this season. Garrett's ERA is down to 4.56 with a 1.06 WHIP and 21:3 K:BB through his first 23.2 innings this year. He's currently lined up for a home matchup with the Rays in his next start. • Braxton Garrett nets victory Wednesday vs. Padres
Braxton Garrett allowed one run over five innings on Wednesday in a win over the Padres.

Advice: Garrett followed up a complete-game performance his last time out against the Diamondbacks by continuing his tour of the NL West, limiting San Diego’s lineup to just a third-inning solo shot from Ha-Seong Kim over five frames to collect his fourth win of the season. He struck out two and didn’t hand out a free pass. He’ll carry a 4.56 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 21/3 K/BB ratio across 23 2/3 innings (four starts) into a home outing next Wednesday against the strikeout-prone Rays. Given his recent performance, he should be rostered in all fantasy formats. Rotoworld Wednesday, 5:41 pm
    • Shohei Ohtani homers, plates three in blowout win
Shohei Ohtani went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and three RBI on Wednesday in the Dodgers’ lopsided win over the Mets.

Advice: Ohtani extended Los Angeles’ early lead with a fifth-inning RBI single before clobbering a two-run homer -- his 14th round-tripper of the season -- off Mets reliever Jorge López in the eighth inning. The 29-year-old two-way superstar holds an astronomical 1.010 OPS in his Dodgers debut so far. That’ll work. Rotoworld Wednesday, 5:28 pm

    • No-decision versus Yankees
Canning allowed three runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out five over five innings in a no-decision versus the Yankees on Tuesday.

Advice: Canning gave up a solo home run and an RBI single to Juan Soto, as well as an RBI double to Austin Wells. Canning has allowed at least one home run in four of his last five starts, the exception being his scoreless outing versus the Royals on May 10. The right-hander is now at a 5.08 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 41:23 K:BB through 56.2 innings across 11 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start in Seattle. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:42 pm
    • Griffin Canning gives up nine hits to Yankees
Griffin Canning surrendered three runs and nine hits over five innings Tuesday against the Yankees.

Advice: Canning is doing the best that he can. but his stuff simply isn’t as good as it was last year. After 11 turns, he has a 5.08 ERA and a 41/23 K/BB in 56 2/3 innings. It’s possible things will get better, but there aren’t really any encouraging signs at the moment. Rotoworld Tuesday, 10:29 pm
    • Sitting out nightcap
Ohtani isn't in the Dodgers' lineup for the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Mets, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Advice: The Dodgers were planning on giving Ohtani the evening off heading into Tuesday's twin bill, so he'll sit in the dugout after an 0-for-5 performance during Game 1. Will Smith will instead serve as Los Angeles' designated hitter, allowing Austin Barnes to start behind the plate. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 4:16 pm
