  • Doubles, scores twice in win
    Rogers went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored in Tuesday's 11-7 win over the Guardians.

    Advice: Rogers was part of an offensive onslaught for Detroit, and he extended his hitting streak to six games in the process. The catcher is still batting just .194 for the season, though he was batting .125 before his current hitting streak. More concerning is the fact that Rogers only has two home runs through 23 games this year after clubbing 21 long balls in 107 contests last season.   • Logan O’Hoppe has four hits in win
    Logan O’Hoppe went 4-for-5 with two RBI in a win over the Pirates on Tuesday.

    Advice: All four of O’Hoppe’s hits were singles and only one of them was hit harder than 95 mph, but the 24-year-old won’t be complaining. The catcher was a popular breakout candidate this season and while he hasn’t set the world on fire, his .279/.330/.404 triple slash is solid from the catcher position.   • Danny Jansen has two hits in loss
    Danny Jansen went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored in a loss to the Phillies on Tuesday.

    Advice: Jansen was the only Blue Jay to post multiple hits, lacing a 102.9 mph double and also picking up a 91.7 mph single. The only time he was retired was on a 106.3 mph lineout that had a .660 xBA. Jansen has been good since coming off the IL and is now hitting .325/.426/.700.   • Tyler Stephenson homers in loss
    Tyler Stephenson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

    Advice: Stephenson took Paul Sewald deep 399 feet at 101.2 mph off the bat for his fourth home run of the season. He also had a 101.6 mph flyout and a 96.4 mph flyout on the day. Despite slashing just .213/.318/.413 on the season, Stephenson is posting an 18.5 percent barrel rate and a career-high 13 percent walk rate. He’s being far more patient at the plate and is swinging and missing less than he ever has.   • Rutschman extends hit streak to five in loss
    Adley Rutschman went 1-for-4 in the Orioles’ 3-0 loss to the Nationals on Tuesday.

    Advice: Offense was hard to come by for the Orioles in this one, as Rutschman’s hit was one of just three the Birds recorded on the evening. The real story of the night was the Nationals pitching, as starter Trevor Williams struck out eight batters over five innings while the bullpen notched four more K’s.   • Suffers arm fracture
    Contreras fractured his left arm during Tuesday's game against the Mets, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

    Advice: Contreras had to leave Tuesday's contest in the second inning after his arm was struck by a J.D. Martinez swing. He will almost certainly spend an extended period of time on the injured list, leaving Ivan Herrera as the Cardinals' new primary catcher.     Willson Contreras was removed from Tuesday’s showdown against the Mets with a fractured left forearm.

    Advice: Brutal. Contreras was struck directly on the left forearm by a swing, not a backswing, from Mets designated hitter J.D. Martinez and was immediately lifted from the contest. The 31-year-old backstop is facing a lengthy absence, which is a significant loss for the Cardinals, and fantasy managers as well.     Willson Contreras was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Mets with an apparent right forearm injury.

    Advice: Contreras was in serious pain after taking a J.D. Martinez swing, not a backswing, directly to the left forearm area just below his elbow. We hate to speculate here, but it didn’t look good. There should be an update on his status at some time later this evening following some imaging, but he’s likely going to wind up missing some time.
