• Taking seat Tuesday
Gurriel is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Rangers.

Advice: It's a routine day off for Gurriel, who is batting just .203/.241/.291 with one home run so far in May. The Diamondbacks will utilize Jake McCarthy and Pavin Smith as their corner outfielders Tuesday. Rotowire.com 55 minutes ago
  • Josh Winder reinstated from IL, optioned to AAA
Twins reinstated RHP Josh Winder off the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A St. Paul.

Advice: Winder is back on the 40-man roster, but the right-hander will continue to work in the minors rather than be a part of the Minnesota bullpen. He could be an option at some point this summer. Rotoworld 56 minutes ago

  • Takes part in light running Monday
Nootbaar (hamstring) hit in the batting cage and did some light running prior to Monday's game against the Reds, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Nootbaar tweaked his hamstring while legging out a triple in Saturday's game against the Cubs and has since sat out the last two games. The outfielder told Denton that he should be ready to return to the lineup whenever the Cardinals give him the green light. The Cardinals are slated to face a left-hander starter Tuesday and have an off day Thursday, factors which could weigh into their decision as to when to reinsert Nootbaar into the lineup. • Likely out until All-Star break
Senga (shoulder) may not be ready to return from the 60-day injured list until after the All-Star break, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The right-hander has had a couple delays and setbacks during his recovery from a posterior right capsule strain. After getting a cortisone injection late last week, Senga played catch on flat ground for the first time Tuesday, per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. Still, the 31-year-old is essentially back to square one with his throwing program. Given that Senga will likely need about six weeks to ramp back up and get game ready, a mid-July return would seem to be the best-case scenario. Manager Carlos Mendoza acknowledged Monday that it's difficult to put a timeline on Senga's return from the IL. Rotowire.com Today, 7:38 am

  • Lars Nootbaar day-to-day with hamstring issue
Cardinals manager Oli Marmol said Lars Nootbaar is “day-to-day” with a hamstring strain.

Advice: Marmol said that the team believed that keeping Nootbaar out of the lineup on Sunday and Monday is “the smart thing to do,” but they “don’t see it lingering.” That provides some optimism that Nootbaar could make it back in the middle of this week; however, hamstring injuries are known to linger so fantasy managers in weekly lineup lock leagues could decide to play it safe and sit Nootbaar this week. • Remains out Monday
Nootbaar (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game in Cincinnati.

Advice: Nootbaar was a late scratch from Sunday's lineup due to a hamstring issue. With tough left-hander Nick Lodolo on the mound for the Reds on Monday, it makes sense to hold Nootbaar out again. Cincinnati does another another southpaw scheduled to start Tuesday in Andrew Abbott, so it's possible Nootbaar could remain out until Wednesday. For what it's worth, Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Monday of Nootbaar's injury that "we don't see it lingering," per John Denton of MLB.com. Dylan Carlson will be in right field Monday. • Activated and optioned
The Twins activated Winder (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list Monday and optioned him to Triple-A St. Paul, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Advice: Winder has been out all season with a scapular stress fracture in his right shoulder, an injury which was first discovered last October. He posted a 6.39 ERA in 12.2 rehab innings, although that came with a 17:4 K:BB. Winder should get another shot with the Twins later this season, but for now he'll try to sharpen things up at St. Paul. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:28 am

  • Tosses clean rehab inning
Phillips (hamstring) retired all three batters he faced -- including two by strikeout -- in a rehab outing with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday.

Advice: Phillips needed just 11 pitches to get through the frame. The appearance was the first for the closer since he went on the 15-day injured list with a right hamstring strain May 5. Phillips will likely get in one or two more rehab outings before he's deemed ready to return to closing duties with the Dodgers. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:45 pm

  • Lars Nootbaar (hamstring) scratched from lineup
Lars Nootbaar was a late scratch from the Cardinals’ starting lineup on Sunday due to a minor hamstring injury.

Advice: Cardinals’ manager Oli Marmol told reporters that Nootbaar felt a small twinge in his hamstring during Saturday’s game. He also noted that Nootbaar could easily play through the issue, but they’re taking a cautious approach and giving him the night off just to be on the safe side. He’s considered day-to-day for the time being. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:23 pm
