• Xander Bogaerts hits fourth homer versus Rockies
Xander Bogaerts hit his fourth homer Monday in a losing cause against the Rockies.

Advice: Sure, Bogaerts doesn’t get many hits, but at least two of his three in the last week have been homers. It’s been a scary decline from the 31-year-old, who is both striking out more and hitting the ball less hard than usual. We’re still hopeful that he’ll figure it out, but we were more optimistic a couple of weeks ago. Rotoworld Today, 9:52 pm

  • Matthew Liberatore pulled in fourth vs. Angels
Matthew Liberatore was charged for four runs while working 3 1/3 innings in a no-decision Monday against the Angels.

Advice: Liberatore was given the chance to start Monday against a not-so-good Los Angeles lineup, but he didn’t take advantage of the situation. The southpaw was able to get out of the first two innings unscathed, but he gave up a four-spot in the third while picking up just a single strikeout in the contest. Liberatore may start again, but his fantasy value is limited, particularly since he’s not fully stretched out. Rotoworld Today, 9:33 pm

  • Jose Soriano blanks Cardinals into sixth inning
Jose Soriano blanked the Cardinals over 5 1/3 innings with six strikeouts, but he didn’t factor in the decision Monday.

Advice: Soriano deserved better, as he allowed just two hits throughout the outing. He did issue three walks, but anytime there was traffic the 25-year-old was able to make a key pitch to get out of the jam. Soriano lowers his ERA to 3.72, and for the most part, he’s looked like a competent starter — albeit one who has limitations in fantasy because of his poor team behind him and a likely inning limit. • Bregman blasts two homers Monday
Alex Bregman went 3-for-4 with a double, two home runs, three runs scored and four RBI in the Astros’ win over the Athletics on Monday.

Advice: Bregman homered in the fourth inning and seventh inning before adding a two-run double in the eighth inning for good measure. He’d been off to a slow start so far this season and the Astros have even moved him down in the batting order. More games like this and he’ll be back in the middle of the order.

  • Set to see work in center field
Matos is expected to see work in center field for the Giants after being called up Monday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Matos will be a top option to see a sizeable workload in center field in the absence of Jung Hoo Lee (shoulder) according to manager Bob Melvin. The 22-year-old has produced an underwhelming .218 batting average with three homers, 17 RBI, 13 runs scored and three stolen bases over 31 games in Triple-A this season, but with Michael Conforto (hamstring), Jorge Soler (shoulder) and Austin Slater (concussion) all also banged up, he may see extended run in the outfield. • Gets going with home run
Bogaerts went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sundays 4-0 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Bogaerts gave the Padres some extra breathing room with a solo shot off Gus Varland in the fifth. The long ball was his first since April 21, his first RBI since April 25 and his first hit in 17 at-bats since May 6. Bogaerts is still searching for a spark offensively this season, as he's slashing just .211/.264/.301 with three homers, 12 RBI, 22 runs and a 12:36 BB:K in 178 plate appearances. • Mookie Betts collects two hits in loss to Padres
Mookie Betts went 2-for-4 with a double as the Dodgers were shut out by the Padres on Sunday afternoon in San Diego.

Advice: As a team, the Dodgers tallied just four hits in the contest, with Betts accounting for half of them on his own — including their lone extra-base knock. He smacked a one-out double off of Yu Darvish in the sixth inning but was left stranded there. He then singled off of Wandy Peralta with two outs in the eighth inning. The 31-year-old superstar is having another extraordinary season at the dish — slashing .339/.441/.539 with six homers, 27 RBI and eight stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:36 pm

  • Giants recall Luis Matos from Triple-A on Sunday
Giants recalled OF Luis Matos from Triple-A Sacramento.

Advice: With Michael Conforto (hamstring) heading to the 10-day injured list — and Jorge Soler (shoulder) already stationed there — Matos will join the big league club to add some depth to a depleted outfield. The 22-year-old was hitting just .218/.308/.355 with three homers, 17 RBI and three stolen bases across 31 games at Triple-A Sacramento. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:36 pm

  • Moves up from Triple-A
The Giants recalled Matos from Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday.

Advice: Matos will join the Giants and provide outfield depth after Michael Conforto (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. At the Triple-A level this season, Matos has slashed .221/.312/.361 with three home runs and 17 RBI over 141 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:53 pm
