    • Yields four runs
Sears (4-4) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks over seven innings Friday, striking out five and taking a loss against Atlanta.

Advice: Sears allowed three runs through two innings but settled in to give Oakland a decent outing. It wasn't enough as the A's were limited to two runs in the loss. Sears has given up four runs in three of his last five starts, resulting in. 4.18 ERA during that span. He generated 14 whiffs Friday, his best total since recording a season-high 16 on April 27. Sears now owns a 4.01 ERA and a 45:19 K:BB through 67.1 innings. His next start is projected to be at home against the Mariners. Rotowire.com 56 minutes ago

    • José Berríos allows one earned run in no-decision
José Berríos struck out five Pirates across seven innings on Friday in a no-decision. He allowed six hits and didn’t walk a batter.

Advice: Berríos leaned into his trusted slurve in this one and kept the Pirates off-balance all night. He’s allowed more than three earned runs in just one start this season while completing at least six innings 10 times in 12 starts. That’s as steady as they come. Rotoworld Today, 8:05 pm

    • JP Sears goes seven in loss to Braves
JP Sears surrendered four runs in seven innings Friday in a loss to the Braves.

Advice: Sears has a solid enough 4.01 ERA for the A’s, but he was more interesting last year when he was throwing a bit harder and striking out 22% of the batters he faced. His strikeout rate stands at 16% right now, and that’s far too low for someone who gives up as many flyballs as he does. Rotoworld Today, 7:25 pm

    • Yields four runs in loss
Gilbert (3-3) took the loss against Houston on Thursday, allowing four runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out five batters over six innings.

Advice: Gilbert began his outing with three scoreless frames, but homers by Alex Bregman and Victor Caratini plated three runs for the Astros across the fourth and fifth innings. Gilbert still had a chance to extend his three-game quality-start streak, but that was extinguished when he gave up another run in the sixth. The right-hander still has a solid 3.29 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over 76.2 innings on the campaign. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:15 pm

    • Logan Gilbert serves up two homers in loss to Astros
Logan Gilbert allowed four runs over six innings on Thursday in a loss to the Astros.

Advice: Gilbert was burned by the long ball in this one as homers by Alex Bregman and Victor Caratini in the fourth and fifth innings, respectively, accounted for nearly all of the damage against him. He finished with five strikeouts and only issued one walk. It was just the third time in 12 starts this season that he’s surrendered four earned runs or more. He’ll carry a strong 3.29 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 71/20 K/BB ratio across 76 2/3 innings (12 starts) into a tasty road matchup on Wednesday against the Athletics. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:40 pm

    • Quality start in no-decision
Taillon didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Brewers, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out four.

Advice: All three of Milwaukee's runs off Taillon came in the third inning, including a pair on three consecutive two-out hits. While the Cubs bullpen couldn't close out a win, it was the third quality start for Taillon this year -- he failed to make it through six innings in his previous three outings, posting a 5.02 ERA in that span. Overall, the 32-year-old right-hander is 3-2 with a 2.84 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 29:12 K:BB through his first eight starts (44.1 innings). Taillon's tentatively slated for a home matchup with the White Sox in his next outing. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:16 pm

    • Taillon posts quality start Thursday
Jameson Taillon allowed three runs in six innings and got the no-decision against the Brewers on Thursday.

Advice: Taillon allowed six hits, one walk and struck out four. He’s rebounded nicely from the 4.84 ERA he had last year. Taillon now has a 2.84 ERA in eight starts for the Cubs this season. This was only the third time this year that he was able to complete at least six innings, though. The 32-year-old right-hander is set to face the White Sox at home next week.

    • Earns second straight win
Garrett (2-0) earned the win Wednesday over the Padres, allowing a run on six hits over five innings. He struck out two.

Advice: A Ha-Seong Kim homer in the third inning was the lone damage against Garrett, as the left-hander earned a second straight win -- he's allowed just one run on nine hits over 14 innings in that span after allowing 11 runs in his first two outings this season. Garrett's ERA is down to 4.56 with a 1.06 WHIP and 21:3 K:BB through his first 23.2 innings this year. He's currently lined up for a home matchup with the Rays in his next start. • Braxton Garrett nets victory Wednesday vs. Padres
Braxton Garrett allowed one run over five innings on Wednesday in a win over the Padres.

Advice: Garrett followed up a complete-game performance his last time out against the Diamondbacks by continuing his tour of the NL West, limiting San Diego’s lineup to just a third-inning solo shot from Ha-Seong Kim over five frames to collect his fourth win of the season. He struck out two and didn’t hand out a free pass. He’ll carry a 4.56 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 21/3 K/BB ratio across 23 2/3 innings (four starts) into a home outing next Wednesday against the strikeout-prone Rays. Given his recent performance, he should be rostered in all fantasy formats. Rotoworld Wednesday, 5:41 pm
