    • Report: Yankees might eye lefty relievers
According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, it “would be ideal” for the Yankees to pursue a “wipeout lefty” before the trade deadline.

Advice: Rosenthal specifically mentions Marlins’ Tanner Scott or Andrew Nardi and acknowledges that “The acquisition cost for a pre-arbitration reliever such as Nardi...would be considerably higher.” He also mentions that the Yankees would be open to high-strikeout-rate right-handed relievers as well, but a lefty is an ideal fit. This, of course, highlights one of the threats to Tanner Scott’s fantasy value as he would almost certainly lose his closer role if he were traded to the Yankees. You’re unlikely to get much for Scott in a trade in fantasy leagues, but his time as a closer appears to be running out with the trade deadline looming. Rotoworld Today, 9:17 am
    • Labors through scoreless frame
Kopech allowed one hit and one walk while striking out two across a scoreless ninth inning Saturday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Kopech was called upon to protect a five-run lead. He did so successfully, though he allowed three hitters to reach base -- he hit a batter in addition to the walk and hit he surrendered -- and required 33 pitches to retire the side. Though it was shaky, the outing was still positive for Kopech as he had allowed at least one run in three of his last four appearances entering Saturday. Rotowire.com Saturday, 9:45 pm

    • Picks up win
Scott (5-4) struck out two batters over 1.2 perfect frames and earned a win over the Guardians on Friday.

Advice: Scott entered a tie game in the eighth inning and forced a double play to escape the first-and-third jam he inherited. He then struck out two in the ninth inning before Miami walked it off in the bottom of the frame. After some early season struggles, Scott has now gone 18 straight innings without allowing an earned run. His season ERA has fallen to 1.40 with a 27:19 K:BB through 25.2 innings. • Tanner Scott notches fifth win for Marlins
Tanner Scott pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings and notched a win in relief Friday against the Guardians.

Advice: Scott came into a tie game in the eighth and stayed in to finish after the Marlins took a one-run lead. It’s his fifth win of the year, all coming since Apr. 30. Even though he’s very much Miami’s closer, he has just three saves during that same five-week span. Rotoworld Friday, 7:13 pm
    • Tagged for walk-off blast
Kopech (1-6) allowed a solo home run to the only batter he faced, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Cubs.

Advice: Kopech was taken deep by Mike Tauchman as the Cubs won in walk-off fashion. It's been tough sledding for Kopech lately -- he's allowed five runs (four earned) over his last 2.2 innings, taking the loss in three of his last four appearances. The right-hander is now at a 4.21 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 35:15 K:BB through 25.2 innings while adding five saves, a hold and two blown saves. If he continues to struggle, Kopech could eventually lose his high-leverage role, though the White Sox's poor play overall has made it difficult for any of the team's relievers to put up saves. • Foley earns one-out save in win over Rangers
Jason Foley earned his 12th save of the season in Tuesday’s win over the Rangers.

Advice: Foley was brought on in relief of Tyler Horton with two outs in the ninth to secure the win for the Tigers. Foley needed just five pitches to force Wyatt Langford into a ground-out and has not allowed a run in his three appearances this month. Rotoworld Tuesday, 8:11 pm

    • Takes fifth loss
Kopech (1-5) allowed one run (none earned) on one hit and one walk while striking out two to take the loss Saturday against the Brewers.

Advice: Kopech entered the game in the 10th inning with the game tied at three. He intentionally walked the first batter he faced to put a pair of runners on base before throwing a wild pitch and allowing an infield single to take the loss. Kopech has had an inconsistent season, though he did turn in scoreless efforts in eight of his nine appearances in May. The White Sox haven't converted a save since May 15, but he should be considered the team's primary closer for the time being. Rotowire.com Jun 1, 10:02 pm

    • Michael Kopech allows unearned run in loss to MIL
Michael Kopech allowed an unearned run while striking out two and picking up a loss Saturday to the Brewers.

Advice: The run doesn’t get charged to Kopech because it was the “zombie runner” that was placed on second base to begin the bottom of the 10th. He still gets the loss with Willy Adames singling in William Contreras to give the Brewers a win and the White Sox their 10th straight loss. Rotoworld Jun 1, 5:19 pm
