    • Grabs fifth save
Hoffman earned the save in Friday's 4-2 win over the Cardinals, striking out two in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Hoffman continues to impress in a late-inning role with the Phillies -- he's allowed just one earned run in his last 19.1 innings. The 31-year-old right-hander's ERA is down to 1.09 on the year with a 0.97 WHIP and 32:7 K:BB across 24.2 innings. Hoffman's up to five saves with seven holds on the campaign. • Davis Schneider walks it off for Blue Jays
Davis Schneider went 1-for-6 with a two-run home run to win the game 5-3 for the Blue Jays over the Pirates on Friday.

Advice: It felt for a moment like this 14-inning marathon would go on forever before Schneider found the right field seats in Toronto. He’s now a fixture at lead-off and one of the few bright spots in what’s otherwise been a bleak season for the Blue Jays. The homer was Schneider’s seventh along with three stolen bases and an .824 OPS. Rotoworld 8 minutes ago

    • Nick Gonzales with two more hits
Nick Gonzales went 2-for-5 with a run scored against the Blue Jays on Friday.

Advice: Gonzales has been a welcome surprise so far this season slashing .319/.377/.536 across 19 games. His nearly 17% barrel rate would be one of the best in the league if he were a qualified hitter and he should remain a regular for the offensively starved Pirates. Rotoworld 10 minutes ago

    • José Berríos allows one earned run in no-decision
José Berríos struck out five Pirates across seven innings on Friday in a no-decision. He allowed six hits and didn’t walk a batter.

Advice: Berríos leaned into his trusted slurve in this one and kept the Pirates off-balance all night. He’s allowed more than three earned runs in just one start this season while completing at least six innings 10 times in 12 starts. That’s as steady as they come. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago

    • Bailey Falter great again across six innings
Bailey Falter pitched a scoreless six innings in a no-decision against the Blue Jays on Friday. He struck out five, walked two, and allowed just two hits.

Advice: Falter just keeps going. 79% of his pitches in this start were either fastballs or sinkers and the Blue Jays were completely helpless, reaching base just four times against him. We keep waiting for the other shoe to drop with Falter, but it hasn’t as the league can’t figure out how to square him up. He will take a sparkling 3.22 ERA into his next start against the vaunted Dodgers. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

    • Sharp despite sixth loss
Mikolas (3-6) took the loss Friday against the Phillies, allowing three runs on five hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out five.

Advice: All three of the runs against Mikolas came in the second inning, including a pair on an Edmundo Sosa homer. While Mikolas would blank the Phillies over his final four frames, St. Louis could only muster a pair of runs off Aaron Nola in an eventual 4-2 loss. The 35-year-old Mikolas has started to turn things around after a rough start to the year, delivering quality starts in three of his last four outings. He's lowered his ERA to 5.54 with a 1.32 WHIP and 50:14 K:BB across 65 innings this year. Mikolas is currently lined up for a road matchup with the Astros in his next start. • Grabs seventh win
Nola (7-2) earned the win Friday over the Cardinals, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out six.

Advice: It was another strong outing from Nola, who held St. Louis to a pair of solo home runs in a winning effort. The 30-year-old right-hander has held opponents to two runs or fewer in each of his last four outings. Nola's ERA now sits at 3.03 on the year with a 1.03 WHIP and 71:22 K:BB across 12 starts (77.1 innings). He'll look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently scheduled for next week at home against the Brewers. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago

    • Jorge Mateo doubles home two in win
Jorge Mateo went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in the Orioles’ 3-1 win over the Rays on Friday.

Advice: Mateo put the Orioles ahead in this one with his two-run double off Phil Maton in the sixth inning and Baltimore didn’t look back. He’s started 12 of 14 games and keeps finding ways to be productive. Over that time he has eight extra-base hits, seven runs scored, seven RBI, and five stolen five bases. Rotoworld 48 minutes ago

    • Craig Kimbrel nabs 13th save
Craig Kimbrel struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning in a win over the Rays on Friday.

Advice: Kimbrel’s fantastic season continued Friday with an overpowering ninth inning. The save tied him with Raisel Iglesias for the sixth-most in the league as he’s turned black the clock so far this year. Rotoworld 49 minutes ago
