      Aaron Boone told the Talkin’ Yanks podcast that he believes DJ LeMahieu (foot) is on track to return May 28.

      Advice: That would be next Tuesday, for those curious. LeMahieu has been out for the entirety of 2024 while recovering from his foot fracture. The 35-year-old is currently on a rehab assignment, and he’ll likely continue that assignment through the end of the week.       Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday in an interview with Jomboy Media's "Talkin' Yanks" podcast that he expects LeMahieu (foot) to be activated from the 10-day injured list May 28.

      Advice: LeMahieu went 2-for-3 with three walks in six plate appearances during his two rehab games with Double-A Somerset following the resumption of his rehab assignment and is slated to be transferred to High-A Hudson Valley to continue rehabbing. Boone also reiterated that LeMahieu will be the team's primary third baseman when he returns from the 10-day injured list, though the plan is to mix in more off days for him initially since he's been on the shelf all season with a non-displaced fracture of his right foot.       Manny Machado doubled twice and drove in two runs as the Padres edged the Braves 6-5 in the first game of Monday’s doubleheader

      Advice: The two-run hit came in a four-run eighth inning rally that proved decisive. The previous double was Machado’s first extra-base hit since May 4. He also had his first multi-RBI game since that date. We were hoping his numbers would get better as his shoulder got further removed from surgery, but his current .639 OPS is 100 points lower than his mark from a month ago.       Advice: LeMahieu will be eased into everyday duty, though, after missing so much time with a right foot injury. The veteran infielder is a couple games into the resumption of his rehab assignment and isn't expected to be activated for at least another week or so.       Morel went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Saturday's 1-0 win over the Pirates.

      Advice: Morel's line drive to center in the bottom of the ninth inning brought in Cody Bellinger with the game-winning run. It was a nice effort for Morel, who's been productive this month despite batting just .220 in May. The production has come mostly in the power department, as the 24-year-old has five home runs this month across 17 games. Morel came into May with four long balls over his first 29 contests.
