    • Jhoan Duran hangs on for one-out save Monday
Jhoan Duran notched a one-out save on Monday against the Royals.

Advice: Technically it’ll go down as the seventh save of the season for Duran as he came on to face MJ Melendez with the potential tying run in the on-deck circle. Things got interesting shortly afterwards as he wound up hitting Melendez with a two-strike pitch before ensuing batter Dairon Blanco followed with a run-scoring single that put the potential tying run on-base. A throwing error by third baseman Willi Castro allowed another run to cross the plate, making it a one-run ballgame in the process, before Duran retired Bobby Witt Jr. on a soft comebacker to end the contest. • Picks up ninth save
Jansen pitched a flawless ninth inning and picked up the save Sunday against Milwaukee. He struck out two.

Advice: Jansen notched his ninth save of the season, preserving a 2-1 Boston lead in the ninth inning. The right-hander continues to have a firm grip on the Boston closer role, as no other Boston reliever has registered more than two saves this season. The 36-year-old veteran is now 9-for-10 in save chances this season with a 3.06 ERA. Rotowire.com Sunday, 5:53 pm

    • Kenley Jansen perfect in earning ninth save
Kenley Jansen pitched a perfect ninth, striking out two, for a save Sunday against the Brewers.

Advice: Jansen’s save was his ninth in 10 chances. He’ll be a trade candidate this summer and there’s the chance he’ll go to a team that won’t employ him as a closer, but he’s a top-15 reliever for now. Rotoworld Sunday, 5:18 pm

    • Earns seventh consecutive win
Sale (8-1) picked up the victory Sunday against the Pirates, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Sale's scoreless inning streak was snapped at 21.2 innings, but that's about the only negative to take from his performance, as he continues to mow down the competition. It was the seventh straight start in which Sale has earned a win and the sixth consecutive outing in which he's allowed one or fewer runs. Sale, who has not been a beacon of health over recent seasons, has not missed a turn this season, already throwing more innings than in all but one season since 2019. Through 10 starts, Sale has a 2.12 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, 78 strikeouts and a K/BB rate of 8.7 over 63.2 innings. His next start is slated for next weekend, when Atlanta welcomes Oakland to town for a three-game set. Rotowire.com Sunday, 4:44 pm

    • Chris Sale wins again after seven strong innings
Chris Sale allowed just one earned run across seven innings in an 8-1 win for the Braves over the Pirates on Sunday. He struck out eight and walked none.

Advice: The win was Sale’s eighth of the season. He’s pitching the best he has in at least five seasons and by some measures, as well as he has in his entire career. He’s striking out his highest percentage of batters since 2019 and walking the least he ever has! The Pirates got on him in the second inning for a run and then Sale proceeded to retire the next 12 batters he faced. He is once again an ace that can be relied on as such. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:32 pm

    • Takes loss in Cincinnati
Buehler (1-2) took the loss to the Reds on Saturday, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out four over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Buehler didn't have his best stuff in this one, as evidenced by the fact that he induced only six swings and misses on 91 pitches and also served up a pair of solo homers. It was a step backward from his previous outing, but this was just his third start back from Tommy John surgery, and ups and downs are to be expected after the long layoff. The 29-year-old righty will take a 4.26 ERA and 1.21 WHIP into his next start, which lines up for next weekend at home against the Rockies. Rotowire.com Sunday, 1:27 am
    • Notches sixth save
Duran threw a perfect ninth inning with one strikeout against the Rangers on Saturday to earn his sixth save of the season.

Advice: The Twins grabbed the lead in the bottom of the eighth on an Alex Kirilloff three-run homer, and Duran was there the next half inning to close the door. He retired the side in order on just eight pitches and is now the team leader in saves with six to Griffin Jax's five, even though Duran missed the first month of the season due to an oblique injury. Duran has been used occasionally in the eighth since making his return, but he's still clearly the preferred closing option in Minnesota when manager Rocco Baldelli has the luxury of holding him back for the ninth. • Roughed up by Milwaukee
Pivetta (2-3) took a loss Saturday against the Brewers, yielding five runs on seven hits and three walks over just 3.1 innings. He notched three strikeouts.

Advice: Pivetta struck out two in a 1-2-3 first inning, but it was a struggle after that. He managed to escape a bases-loaded situation in the second inning, but in the third the Brewers had six straight runners reach base (five via hits) with two outs and scored five runs. Pivetta has now had two great outings but also two duds since coming back from the injured list. If there's a positive to take away from this one it's that he didn't give up a home run after he surrendered six in his prior three starts. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:15 pm

    • Walker Buehler gives up three runs in loss to Reds
Walker Buehler suffered his second defeat of the season on Saturday, allowing three runs on six hits over 5 2/3 innings against the Reds in Cincinnati.

Advice: Buehler punched out four batters on the night while issuing one base on balls. His trouble in this one stemmed from his inability to keep the ball in the yard, as Spencer Steer slugged a solo homer in the first inning and Will Benson blasted another in the second. The 29-year-old hurler got six swings and misses on 91 pitches on the evening — three of those on his fastball — while posting a CSW of 27 percent. He’ll look to bounce back and improve upon his 4.26 ERA and 1.21 WHIP when he does battle against the Rockies at home on Friday. Rotoworld Saturday, 6:56 pm
