    • Josh Jung (wrist) fields grounders on Tuesday
Josh Jung (wrist) fielded grounders on Tuesday.

Advice: It’s a significant step forward in Jung’s recovery process nearly six weeks out from surgery to repair a fractured right wrist. The 26-year-old slugger is expected to be sidelined until at least late May or early June, barring any setbacks. The biggest variable for fantasy managers to monitor is how his power rebounds following his return since that tends to be an issue, historically speaking, for hitters coming off wrist surgery. • Smacks leadoff homer
Betts went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 6-4 extra-inning win over the Giants.

Advice: Betts snapped a 26-game homer drought with his leadoff blast Monday. He was far from a slouch in that span, batting .337 with an .848 OPS during the power drought. For the season, Betts is up to a .341/.440/.553 slash line with seven homers, 28 RBI, 35 runs scored, eight stolen bases, 11 doubles and two triples over 200 plate appearances. While it has cost him some power, Betts is enjoying the best plate discipline of his career with a 15.0 percent walk rate and 9.0 percent strikeout rate. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:48 pm

    • Will Smith delivers in 10th as Dodgers down Giants
Will Smith delivered a two-run double in the top of the 10th to propel the Dodgers past the Giants 6-4 on Monday.

Advice: It was his second hit of the game. Smith hit .258., 260 and .261 the last three years, but he’s at .309 right now, and he has the exit velocity numbers to somewhat back it up. He’ll probably fade as the foul tips and other catching maladies pile up, but he’s been one of the NL’s best players to date. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:42 pm

    • Explodes for two homers, four RBI
Bregman went 3-for-3 with a pair of home runs, a double, four total RBI, three total runs and a walk in a 9-2 victory against the Athletics on Monday.

Advice: Bregman came into Monday looking like a shell of his former power-hitting self with just one long ball through 159 plate appearances, but he brought back reminders of his 41-homer 2019 campaign with a pair of solo blasts in the victory. The third baseman capped the big performance with a two-run double in the eighth inning, giving him a season-high four RBI and his second three-hit effort of the campaign. Bregman could be in the midst of turning around what had previously looked like a tepid season, as he's on a five-game hitting streak during which he's gone 8-for-20 (.400 average) with four extra-base hits and six RBI. • Struggles in blown save
Diaz blew the save Monday against Philadelphia, allowing two runs on two hits, two walks and a hit batter. He had one strikeout over one inning.

Advice: Diaz looked extremely unsettled Monday night, issuing his first free passes since April 20, ending a streak of eight walk-free innings. Even more indicative of his unsteady control, the Mets closer allowed the tying run to score by beaning Alec Bohm with the bases loaded. Despite the ugly outing Monday, Diaz is cemented as the Mets closer with his ERA standing at 3.24 over 16.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:11 pm

    • Bryson Stott stays hot, Phillies edge Mets
Bryson Stott went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI on Monday, powering the Phillies to a 5-4 win over the Mets in a 10-inning marathon.

Advice: Stott delivered late for Philadelphia, taking Mets stopper Edwin Díaz deep to lead off the ninth inning before tacking on a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the ensuing frame to put the Phillies ahead for good in a back-and-forth slugfest at Citi Field. The 26-year-old infielder has been on an absolute heater of late, batting .433 (13-for-30) with one homer and five steals in nine contests since the start of May, which obviously doesn’t include a two-homer explosion back on April 28. • Edwin Díaz melts down Monday in ugly blown save
Edwin Díaz was charged with two runs in the ninth inning on Monday against the Phillies in a blown save.

Advice: Not great. Díaz was called upon to guard a two-run lead in the final frame and was unable to slam the door. He served up a solo shot to Bryson Stott to kick things off before drilling Alec Bohm with the bases loaded to push across the game-tying run with two outs in the frame. It was his second blown save in seven chances this season. There’s zero chance of Díaz losing his grip on the closing role in New York, but it’s worth noting that this outing was a real mess. • Bregman blasts two homers Monday
Alex Bregman went 3-for-4 with a double, two home runs, three runs scored and four RBI in the Astros’ win over the Athletics on Monday.

Advice: Bregman homered in the fourth inning and seventh inning before adding a two-run double in the eighth inning for good measure. He’d been off to a slow start so far this season and the Astros have even moved him down in the batting order. More games like this and he’ll be back in the middle of the order.

    • Gavin Williams to throw bullpen session
Gavin Williams is set to throw a bullpen session Tuesday for the first time since receiving an injection for his elbow.

Advice: “I watched him play catch yesterday,” manager Stephen Vogt said. “He looks free and easy, so we’re excited.” Williams has been out since the spring after injuring his elbow while throwing a weighted ball. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:09 pm
