    • Semien picks up double Monday
Marcus Semien went 1-for-4 with a double as the Rangers were shutout in the loss to the Guardians on Monday.

Advice: It was a quiet night for the Rangers offense. While it was ruled a double, Semien’s hit was definitely misplayed by Guardians outfielder Estevan Florial. Semien’s hitting .284 this season and continues to hit leadoff and play everyday for one of the best lineups in all of baseball. Rotoworld Today, 8:51 pm

    • Sitting out series opener
Paredes is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox.

Advice: Paredes was hit in the helmet by a pitch in the seventh inning of Sunday's 10-6 loss to the Yankees, but he stayed in the game after being checked out. His absence from the lineup a day later may create some level of concern about his health, but Paredes could just be receiving a maintenance day after he had started in each of the Rays' last nine games. Amed Rosario will replace Paredes at the hot corner Monday, and for now, the expectation is that Paredes will be back in the lineup Tuesday. Rotowire.com Today, 1:48 pm

    • Out Monday with knee injury
Realmuto (knee) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Advice: Realmuto will be on the bench for a second straight game with what the Phillies are characterizing as right knee soreness. The veteran backstop said he first picked up the injury while legging out a triple in the Phillies' May 4 game against the Giants, and his knee hasn't improved in the week since. Neither Realmuto nor the Phillies are concerned yet about him requiring a stint on the injured list, though that could be a stronger possibility if he's not able to return to the lineup within the next couple of days. Garrett Stubbs will fill in for Realmuto behind the plate Monday. Rotowire.com Today, 1:14 pm

    • J.T. Realmuto feels no improvement in knee
J.T. Realmuto says his right knee hasn’t gotten better since he tweaked it on a triple against the Giants on May 4.

Advice: Realmuto hasn’t undergone any tests on the knee and still think it’s a day-to-day situation. He’s out of the Phillies’ lineup for a second straight game tonight, with Garrett Stubbs playing in his place. Rotoworld Today, 1:10 pm

    • Goes back-to-back in first inning
Cronenworth went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Cronenworth got things started for the Padres by going back-to-back with Fernando Tatis off Walker Buehler in the opening inning. He went hitless the rest of the afternoon but continues to be one of the Padres' best bats. He had a 12-game hit streak that came to an end Friday and has been showing increased power early on. His .503 slug percentage is fourth among all first basemen and is a significant personal improvement after averaging a .384 slugging over his last two seasons. For the year, Cronenworth is now slashing .285/.349/.503 with seven homers, 27 RBI, 20 runs and a 14:27 BB:K in 169 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:50 pm

    • Dominant in win
Lugo (6-1) allowed one run on five hits while striking out 12 and walking none over eight innings to earn the win over the Angels on Sunday.

Advice: Quality of opponent aside, Lugo was excellent Sunday. He landed 77 of his 112 pitches for strikes and recorded double-digit strikeouts for the first time this season. It was also his first start without issuing a walk. The right-hander is now at a 1.66 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 48:12 K:BB through 59.2 innings over nine starts. Lugo's had good moments both as a starter and a reliever in his career, but his start to 2024 is a completely new level for the 34-year-old. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Athletics. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:45 pm

    • Jake Cronenworth leaves the yard in win on Sunday
Jake Cronenworth blasted his seventh home run of the season on Sunday, helping to power the Padres to victory over the visiting Dodgers.

Advice: The 30-year-old infielder went back-to-back with teammate Fernando Tatis Jr. off of Walker Buehler in the opening inning of this one, with Cronenworth’s blast traveling 408 feet (106.5 mph EV). That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the afternoon. For the season, he’s now slashing a healthy .285/.349/.503 to go along with the aforementioned seven long balls and 27 RBI. • Seth Lugo strikes out 12 in victory over Angels
Seth Lugo delivered a dominant performance in Sunday’s victory over the Angels, racking up a career-high 12 strikeouts over eight innings of one-run baseball.

Advice: The 34-year-old right-hander scattered just five hits on the afternoon and didn’t walk a single batter. The only blemish on his day came in the form of a run-scoring double off the bat of Willie Calhoun in the sixth inning, otherwise he was masterful. Lugo generated a whopping 17 swings and misses on 112 pitches in the ballgame — eight of those on his curveball — while registering an elite CSW of 38 percent. He has been unbelievable for the Royals this season, posting a 6-1 record, 1.66 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and a 48/12 K/BB ratio over 59 2/3 innings in his first nine starts. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling when he takes on the Athletics at home on Saturday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:48 pm

    • Next start coming Tuesday
Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Taillon (back) will start Tuesday's game in Atlanta, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: A bout with back stiffness resulted in Taillon being scratched from his scheduled start Friday in Pittsburgh, but the right-hander responded well enough from a bullpen session Saturday for the Cubs to clear him to take the hill in Atlanta. With Kyle Hendricks (back) coming off the 15-day injured list to start Sunday in Pittsburgh, Taillon will end up taking over the spot in the rotation that had previously belonged to Hayden Wesneski, who has been moved to the bullpen.
