      Advice: Judge extended the Yankees lead to 2-0 with a 414-foot shot off Luis Castillo in the third inning, his 15th long ball this year, tied for third-most in the majors, and his second in as many days. Judge has been on a tear this month, going 27-for-63 (.429) with nine homers and 17 RBI in his last 19 games.       Holmes earned the save in Thursday's 5-0 win over Seattle, allowing two hits while striking out a pair in 1.1 innings.

      Advice: Holmes came on in relief in the eighth after Nick Burdi loaded the bases. He'd induce a grounder off the bat of Luke Raley for the final out before working around a pair of singles in the ninth to earn his 14th save. It's a nice bounce-back effort from Holmes, after he allowed four runs in a blown save against Seattle on Monday, the first four runs he's allowed this season.       Adolis Garcia hit a solo homer in a loss to the Phillies on Thursday.

      Advice: Garcia took Zack Wheeler deep in the second inning. The 31-year-old slugger has gone deep a dozen times thus far in 2024 while driving in 36 runs over Texas’s first 51 games.       Matt Chapman hit a three-run homer Thursday to help the Giants to a win over the Pirates.

      Advice: Chapman remains hot, and his three-run blast off Hunter Stratton got San Francisco back in the game; turning a 6-2 deficit into a 6-5 game. The 31-year-old has homered eight times, and three of those blasts have come in his last three games. He would make it through the frame but didn't return for the sixth, marking the second straight start in which he's been unable to make it through at least six innings. The right-hander is now 1-2 in May after going 5-1 in his first six decisions to open the campaign. However, he still sports a healthy 34:5 K:BB through four starts this month.       Tyler Glasnow allowed three runs with six strikeouts over five innings in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

A walk and a single put two runners on for Corbin Carroll, who brought both runners in to score on a triple. A wild pitch allowed Carroll to cross home for the third run. Glasnow would complete the frame and was done after five on 95 pitches. He struck out six.       Verdugo went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Mariners.

      Advice: All of the Yankees' runs came via the long ball Wednesday, and Verdugo's eighth-inning blast cut off the Mariners' hopes of a comeback. The veteran outfielder has gone 11-for-37 (.297) over his last nine contests, picking up at least one hit in eight of them while adding nine RBI and five doubles. He's slashing .254/.325/.422 with six homers, 26 RBI, 23 runs scored and a stolen base over 197 plate appearances this season. Verdugo won't get the accolades of fellow outfielders Juan Soto and Aaron Judge, but he's been a strong and steady presence as the Yankees' starting left fielder this season.
