Burnes (6-2) picked up the win Tuesday against Toronto, allowing one run on four hits and one walk across seven innings. He struck out five.

Advice: The lone run against Burnes came on a George Springer solo homer in the seventh frame. Burnes hasn't allowed more than three runs in a start this season and has logged eight straight quality starts. On the year, Burnes owns a 2.25 ERA with 76 strikeouts across 79.2 innings and is tied for the league lead in quality starts. Burnes is scheduled for a road start against the Rays on Sunday. • Cristopher Sánchez spins six frames in no-decision
Cristopher Sánchez allowed one run over six innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Brewers.

Advice: Sánchez gave up only four hits with a third-inning ground out from Andruw Monasterio representing the lone tally against him in this one. He struck out three and only issued one walk. The 27-year-old lefty has been a model of consistency this season, allowing three earned runs or fewer in 11 of his 12 starts so far. He’ll bring a strong 2.71 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 59/21 K/BB ratio across 66 1/3 innings (12 starts) into a road matchup next Wednesday against the Red Sox at Fenway Park. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:08 pm
    • Corbin Burnes allows one earned run vs. Blue Jays
Corbin Burnes allowed one earned run and four hits over seven innings while picking up the win on Tuesday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Burnes was solid on the night, allowing just one run on four hits, with his lone blemish coming on a solo blast from George Springer. Manager Brandon Hyde paid a brief visit to the mound following the Springer home run, but Burnes got the nod to finish out the inning in what was his 10th quality start of the season. Burnes is now 6-2 with a 2.26 ERA on the season. He’ll look earn his seventh win in his next start which is scheduled for Sunday against the Rays. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:50 pm

    • Glasnow takes tough luck loss against Pirates
Tyler Glasnow allowed one run on three hits over six innings in a loss to the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: Glasnow allowed a solo home run to Jack Suwinski in the third inning and that was all the Pirates needed to earn a win behind a strong performance from Jared Jones. Glasnow was also great on Tuesday with two walks, nine strikeouts, and 13 whiffs on 40 swings for a 33 percent whiff rate and 35 percent CSW. The right-hander has been healthy all year and dominant on the mound with a 2.93 ERA heading into a tough start against the Yankees this weekend. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:43 pm

    • Excellent again in hard-luck loss
Glasnow (6-4) was stuck with the loss Tuesday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out nine over six innings.

Advice: Jack Suwinski's solo home run in the third inning was the lone tally against Glasnow, though it proved to be enough to leave him with the loss in a 1-0 shutout defeat. Still, it was another strong outing from the 30-year-old Glasnow, who now has eight or more strikeouts in seven of his last eight starts. His ERA is down to 2.93 on the year with a 0.90 WHIP and a league-leading 104 strikeouts through 13 starts (80 innings). Glasnow's currently lined up for an intriguing road matchup with the Yankees this weekend. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 6:39 pm

    • Hit hard in no-decision
Verlander did not factor into the decision in Monday's 2-1 win over the Cardinals, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts over five innings.

Advice: Verlander got into immediate trouble, allowing solo home runs to Alec Burleson and Nolan Gorman in the first inning. He labored through the next four, surrendering a total of eight hard-hit balls, including another homer by Gorman, and leaving with a 4-2 deficit. Verlander was coming off back-to-back nine-strikeout efforts, but he has now failed to reach six innings in four of his nine starts this season. In those nine games, Verlander has posted a 3.63 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 48:17 K:BB. He tentatively lines up for a road matchup against the Angels on Sunday. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:57 pm
    • Verlander allows four runs in no-decision Monday
Justin Verlander allowed four runs in five innings and got a no-decision in the Astros’ 7-4 victory over the Cardinals on Monday.

Advice: Verlander gave up seven hits, walked two and struck out four. He allowed three home runs and has now allowed 11 home runs in 52 innings (1.90 HR/9) this season. That’s a significant uptick from the 18 home runs he allowed in 162 innings (1.00 HR/9) last year. Also troubling is Verlander’s 23 percent ground ball percentage, which would be a career-low. While his ERA is 3.63 on the season, his xFIP is over full run higher at 4.70. Verlander has benefitted from an 86 percent left on base percentage, which has helped drive his ERA down but is unlikely to last all year. The 41-year-old right-hander is set to face the Angels on the road this weekend.

    • Lands on injured list
The Padres placed Darvish on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a left groin strain.

Advice: Darvish had to make an early exit from his start Wednesday against Miami due to hamstring problems, but the issue appears to instead be groin-related. His move to the IL is backdated to Thursday, allowing him to be eligible to return June 14. He will be joined by fellow starter Joe Musgrove (elbow) on the injured list while Randy Vasquez and Logan Gillaspie come up from Triple-A El Paso to take their places. • Padres put Yu Darvish on IL with left groin strain
Padres placed RHP Yu Darvish on the 15-day injured list with a left groin strain.

Advice: Darvish was originally believed to be dealing with a hamstring issue, but it turns out to be a groin strain that will keep him sidelined for at least a few weeks. The 37-year-old righty lasted just three innings on Wednesday against the Marlins before exiting due to hamstring tightness and holds a solid 3.20 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and a 53/15 K/BB ratio over 56 1/3 innings (11 starts) this season. There should be a clearer timetable for his return at some point in the coming days. Rotoworld Saturday, 11:25 am
