    • Fires seven innings
Kirby allowed a run on five hits over seven innings in a no-decision Sunday. He struck out four during the win over the Royals.

Advice: The lone run to score on Kirby came via a sacrifice bunt in the fifth inning. After a shaky stretch in May, he's back to looking like his usual self recently; over his last three starts, Kirby has posted a 2.00 ERA and 21:1 K:BB. He was in line for the win after his seventh quality start of 2024 before the Royals tied up the game in the ninth inning. Kirby is now sporting a 3.81 ERA with a terrific 78:7 K:BB through 80.1 frames. His next start is lined up to be at home against the Rangers. Rotowire.com Today, 7:32 pm

    • George Kibry strong for seven against Royals
George Kirby pitched seven innings of one-run ball Sunday against the Royals.

Advice: Kirby was in line for the win when he left, but a two-run lead was blown in the bottom of the ninth. Kirby has allowed a total of four runs in his last three starts, lowering his ERA from 4.33 to 3.81. He went without walking a batter today, and his K/BB stands at 78/7 through 80 1/3 innings. • Andrés Muñoz gets hold in return from sore back
Andrés Muñoz, who hadn’t pitched since aggravating his back Tuesday, returned to the mound with a scoreless eighth inning Sunday against the Royals.

Advice: Rather than save him for the ninth, the Mariners opted to use Muñoz against the top of the Royals order in the eighth with a two-run lead today. Muñoz did his part, but Michael Baumann went on to give up a game-tying homer in the bottom of the ninth. The Mariners went on to win in the 10th, with Tayler Saucedo collecting a one-out save. Ryne Stanek, typically the primary alternative to Muñoz, went unused for a second straight day after throwing 39 pitches between Thursday and Friday. Rotoworld Today, 5:22 pm
    • Back in action
Munoz (back) recorded one strikeout in a perfect eighth inning Sunday against the Royals. He said he "felt weird" out on the mound and was happy with the outing even though he didn't feel like he had his best stuff or command, per Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times.

Advice: He was the first reliever out of the bullpen after George Kirby tossed seven innings of one-run ball. Mike Baumann came on in the ninth inning and gave up two earned runs to blow the save (and eventually pick up the win). It sounds like Munoz will be considered available going forward, although his back might not feel fully healthy. Rotowire.com Today, 4:06 pm
    • Jazz Chisholm homers in loss to Guardians
Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Guardians on Sunday.

Advice: Jazz absolutely demolished a fourth-inning offering from Carlos Carrasco 440 feet and 108.1 mph for his ninth home run of the season. The 26-year-old has lowered his strikeout rate and raised his walk rate this season, but it hasn’t led to much of an improvement in batting average. Still, he’s likely going to hit 20 home runs with at least 25 steals, which makes him a great bat for your fantasy teams. Rotoworld Today, 2:47 pm
    • Returning to action Sunday
Marte (back) is starting at second base and batting second Sunday against the Padres.

Advice: The 30-year-old was scratched from Saturday's starting nine due to lower-back soreness but will end up sitting just one game. Marte is 11-for-26 with three homers, six RBI and a 4:7 BB:K through seven games in June, which has boosted his OPS for the season to .848. Rotowire.com Today, 10:02 am

    • Marte, Moreno back in lineup for Diamondbacks
Ketel Marte (back) is hitting second and playing second base Sunday against the Padres.

Advice: Marte and Gabriel Moreno (illness) are both back in the lineup for the D-Backs for their series finale against the Padres. Marte will handle the keystone with Moreno starting behind the plate and hitting eighth against Adam Mazur and the San Diego pitching staff. Rotoworld Today, 9:56 am

    • Yoshida (thumb) picks up hit in rehab game in AAA
Masataka Yoshida (thumb) went 1-for-4 with a run scored in a rehab appearance with Triple-A Worcester.

Advice: Yoshida was the designated hitter for the WooSox on Saturday, and he’s scheduled to DH again for Worcester on Sunday. Assuming those games go well, the 30-year-old is expected to rejoin the Red Sox at some point later this week. He should be in the lineup on close to an everyday basis once he’s back. • No structural damage found in Colt Keith’s knee
Colt Keith told reporters that he expects to avoid a trip to the injured list after undergoing tests on his left knee.

Advice: Keith said that there was no structural damage found, which is obviously great news. The infielder was forced to leave Saturday’s game because of soreness in the knee due to a collision with Akil Baddoo, with Baddoo also dealing with a knee injury. Assuming it is just soreness, Keith should be back in the lineup in the coming days. Rotoworld Today, 7:23 am
