    • Ohtani blasts 21st home run against Rockies
Shohei Ohtani went 1-for-3 with two walks and a solo home run against the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: Ohtani led off the game with a home run off Rockies starter Ty Blach. The home run was his 21st of the year, which leads the National League. He’s hitting .318 with 59 runs, 53 RBI and 16 steals to boot.

    • Blach allows 10 hits, five runs in loss Thursday
Ty Blach allowed five runs in four innings and took the loss against the Dodgers on Thursday.

Advice: Blach gave up 10 hits, walked one and struck out two. He continues to give up hits in bunches as he’s now allowed 35 hits over his last four starts. Blach’s ERA is up to 5.13 on the season and he remains off the fantasy radar. The 33-year-old left-hander is set to face the Astros on the road next week.

    • Chris Flexen pitches well, but bullpen blows lead
Chris Flexen held the Astros to just one run over six innings, but didn’t factor in the decision Thursday.

Advice: Flexen pitched well, the White Sox bullpen did not. He scattered five hits while striking out six against three walks. The 29-year-old left the game with a 3-1 lead, but Chicago’s beleaguered relievers gave up the lead quickly after. Flexen gets the Dodgers next week. No thank you. • Spencer Arrighetti shaky in no-decision
Spencer Arrighetti allowed three runs in 4 1/3 innings while not picking up a decision Thursday against the White Sox.

Advice: Arrighetti struggled with his control throughout the contest, as he issued four walks and threw 47-of-80 pitches for strikes. The right-hander was facing one of the easier lineups in baseball, and it’s another mediocre result; albeit one that is better than the seven runs he gave up over 1 1/3 innings against Detroit on Saturday. Arrighetti now has a 6.36 ERA, and he isn’t a recommended streamer even against the Rockies at home next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:04 pm
    • Jose Miranda hits game-tying homer in ninth
Jose Miranda blasted a three-run homer to tie the game in the ninth against the Rays.

Advice: With the Twins trailing 6-3 and two outs and two on in the ninth, Miranda came up huge with a three-run blast off Pete Fairbanks to send the game to extra innings. Unfortunately for Miranda and the Twins, they would still fall in the 10th. Miranda also hit a single, and the 25-year-old has hit a very respectable .280/.317/.477 over the first 74 games of 2024. • Shohei Ohtani drives in three against Rockies
Shohei Ohtani went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI against the Rockies on Wednesday.

Advice: Ohtani stepped to the plate with the bases loaded in the second inning and cleared the bases with a double to tie the game. He later knocked a base hit for his second hit of the game. The 29-year-old star is slashing .317/.388/.608 with 20 homers, 58 runs scored, 52 RBI, and 16 steals across 332 plate appearances. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:23 pm

    • Getting day off
Miranda is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Advice: Miranda will head to the bench Wednesday, but he should have a relatively firm grasp on a near-everyday role for the Twins after Minnesota recently optioned Alex Kirilloff (back) to the minors before reversing the transaction and placing him on the 10-day injured list. The 26-year-old has earned his way into steadier playing time by maintaining an .875 OPS through his first 15 games of June. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 12:43 pm
    • Homers in Tuesday's win
Ohtani went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 11-9 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Ohtani batted leadoff for the second game in a row, and it looks like that'll be his spot as long as Mookie Betts (wrist) is unavailable. While Betts' absence is a big one for the Dodgers, Ohtani should be plenty capable of filling in atop the order, given his excellent batting skills and his noticeable speed. The 29-year-old has multiple hits in four of his last five games, and he's up to a .316/.388/.608 slash line through 325 plate appearances this season. Ohtani has added 20 homers, 49 RBI, 57 runs scored, 16 stolen bases, 20 doubles and two triples. His RBI numbers may dip, but that should be offset by a slight uptick in crossing the plate himself. • One more start
Mazur is likely to get one more start Thursday since Yu Darvish will make a rehab start Wednesday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Advice: Mazur has struggled with his first taste of the majors, posting a 7.82 ERA and 2.05 WHIP in his three starts while issuing 13 walks in 12.2 innings. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 1:01 pm
