    • Undergoes ACL surgery
Acuna underwent surgery Wednesday to repair the torn ACL in his left knee, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: The reigning NL MVP had already been ruled out for the season, but Acuna will now be able to begin rehabbing from the injury he suffered May 26. The 26-year-old underwent ACL surgery on his right knee in 2021, so he's familiar with the process. Acuna's injury that year happened in mid-July, not late May, and the difference could allow him to be ready for Opening Day in 2025. Rotowire.com Today, 6:22 am
    • Bat showing life
Benson went 2-for-4 with a stolen base, two RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 8-4 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Benson provided insurance for the Reds with a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning. It was the fourth consecutive game with a hit for Benson, who is 6-for-14 with a double, a triple, five RBI and three runs scored during that stretch. The steal was his ninth of the season, but his first in 22 games. The hit streak has raised Benson's batting average to .214, the highest it's been since April 30. Rotowire.com Today, 4:41 am

    • Doubles home go-ahead run
Friedl went 1-for-4 with a walk, a double, an RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 8-4 win over the Cubs.

Advice: In a back-and-forth affair, Friedl produced the go-ahead run in the sixth inning with a two-out double off lefty reliever Luke Little. The double extended Friedl's hit streak to five games, during which he's 6-for-19 with three extra-base hits, seven RBI and six runs scored. Rotowire.com Today, 4:33 am
    • Snaps long hitless stretch
Grisham went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI on Thursday in an 8-5 win over Minnesota.

Advice: Entering Thursday, Grisham hadn't notched a hit in over five weeks, going 0-for-19 across his previous 11 games. He snapped the brutal slump in fine fashion against the Twins, hitting a two-run homer in the second inning to give New York its first lead. Grisham added a sacrifice fly in the fifth, though he also added another strikeout to his season stat line. Despite Thursday's performance, it's been an atrocious first season in New York for Grisham -- he's slashing a paltry .071/.216/.214 with a career-worst 31.4 percent strikeout rate through 51 plate appearances. • Swats key homer
Duvall went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run against the Nationals in a 5-2 victory Thursday.

Advice: Atlanta was being shut out by rookie hurler Mitchell Parker until Duvall tied the score with his two-run blast in the seventh inning. The long ball was his first since he went deep in back-to-back games May 26-27. Duvall is still under the Mendoza line with a .195 average on the campaign, but he's taken on a near-everyday role in right field since Ronald Acuna was lost for the season due to a knee injury. • Homers off bench Thursday
O'Hearn hit a two-run homer as a pinch hitter in Thursday's 6-5 loss to the Blue Jays.

Advice: As usual, O'Hearn started the game on the bench with the Orioles facing left-hander Yusei Kikuchi. O'Hearn entered in the ninth inning and delivered a homer to cut the Orioles' deficit to one run, but they couldn't tie it up. The 30-year-old is up to eight homers over 48 contests this season, and he's added a trusty .280/.343/.471 slash line with 20 RBI, 22 runs scored and one stolen base over 172 plate appearances. O'Hearn continues to be in the lineup versus nearly every opposing right-hander. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:27 pm

    • Doubles twice in win
Refsnyder went 3-for-6 with two doubles and one run scored in Thursday's 14-2 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Refsnyder got the start in right field and extended his hitting streak to nine games. In that span, he's gone 14-for-38 (.368) with five doubles and one home run. The outfielder has carried a high average all season, and he's now batting .346 through 35 contests. He's added just two homers, 14 RBI, 13 runs scored, one stolen base, 11 doubles and a triple over 116 plate appearances. Refsnyder splits his time between the corner outfield and designated hitter, and while he hasn't been limited to a true platoon role, he hasn't played on an everyday basis either. • Hits first big-league homer
Westbrook went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Thursday's 14-2 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Westbrook didn't start the contest, but he pinch hit for Tyler O'Neill in the seventh inning. That was when Westbrook hit his first major-league homer, a solo shot off reliever Jared Shuster. Over four contests, Westbrook is 2-for-5 with a walk and a hit-by-pitch. He is likely to remain in a short-side platoon role in the Boston infield until the team gets some injured players back. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:12 pm
    • Zach DeLoach picks up first career hit in blowout
Zach DeLoach hit an RBI double on Thursday in the White Sox’ lopsided defeat at the hands of the Red Sox.

Advice: DeLoach picked up his first career hit and RBI with a sixth-inning double off Red Sox starter Tanner Houck. The 25-year-old outfielder had been 0-for-5 in three games this season in the majors. He figures to continue playing regularly for the rebuilding White Sox, who set a franchise record on Thursday evening with their 14th consecutive loss. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:53 pm
