    • Starting against right-hander again
Taylor will start in right field and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The right-handed-hitting Taylor has started in both of the Mets' first two games in right field since Starling Marte (knee) landed on the 10-day injured list, even as the opposition has sent a righty to the bump both times. DJ Stewart will also be in the right-field mix while Marte is shelved, but Taylor looks to be the preferred option for now. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:25 pm
    • Guardians recall Jhonkensy Noel to make MLB debut
Guardians recalled OF Jhonkensy Noel from Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: Noel had an 1.156 OPS for Columbus this month, putting him at .295/.359/.578 with 18 homers for the season. It’s unclear how much of a role the Guardians will carve out for him versus righties, but he should definitely be the right fielder against lefties. He struggled to hit for average in previous years, and he’s a zero when it comes to steals, so he’ll need to keep showing plenty of power in order to be useful in fantasy leagues. • Summoned to big leagues
The Guardians recalled Noel from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday. He'll start at first base and bat sixth in the Guardians' series finale in Baltimore.

Advice: Noel will hit the big leagues for the first time. The 22-year-old slashed .295/.359/.578 with 18 home runs over 65 games with Columbus this season. Much of that production has come since the start of May, with Noel producing a .343/.404/.651 line with 14 home runs in 43 contests over that stretch. Noel has also struck out at just an 18.1-percent rate since May 1, which is a positive development for a player who has often struggled to make contact during his minor-league career. While he can handle first base and the corner outfield spots in a pinch, Noel's best shot at consistent playing time in Cleveland could come at designated hitter. • Zach Neto dropped to eighth in Angels lineup
Zach Neto has been dropped to eighth in the Angels lineup Wednesday against the A’s.

Advice: Neto has been the Angels’ best player since the end of April, but good luck convincing manager Ron Washington of that. Neto had mostly hit sixth of late. He’s batting .274/.326/.500 since Apr. 29, and he leads the Angels with four homers and 14 RBI in June. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:25 am

    • Reaches double-digit steals
Neto went 0-for-2 with a walk, a run and a stolen base in Tuesday's 7-5 win against Oakland.

Advice: Neto was also hit by a pitch in the fourth inning, and he came around to score when the next batter (Mickey Moniak) belted a grand slam. Neto's eighth-inning theft was his 10th of the campaign through 76 contests; as a rookie last year, he stole a modest five bases in 84 games. The shortstop also has 10 homers this season, making him one of 14 big-leaguers to have reached double-digit home runs and stolen bases so far in 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:37 am

    • Regaining playing time
Bauers will start at first base and bat fifth in Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Advice: Bauers will be included in the lineup for the second game in a row and for the third time in four games after producing three hits over his prior two starts. The 29-year-old is still getting on base at a lowly .279 clip for the season, so despite seeing his playing time trend upward of late, he's hardly locked into an everyday role for Milwaukee. • Gets start against righty
Taylor went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Tuesday's win over the Yankees.

Advice: With Starling Marte (knee) landing on the injured list, Taylor and DJ Stewart are expected to split reps in right field. Instead of using a strict platoon, however, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza elected to deploy the right-handed Taylor against Gerrit Cole on Tuesday, perhaps prioritizing Taylor's superior defense. The 30-year-old is making a case for a bigger role with his bat as well, batting .273 (9-for-33) in June with three doubles, a triple, an RBI and five runs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:18 am
    • Brett Baty hits sixth homer since Triple-A demotion
Brett Baty hit his sixth homer in 15 games for Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.

Advice: Baty is hitting .333/.388/.700 with more homers (six to four), more doubles (four to three) and more RBI (18 to 16) in 15 games for Syracuse than he had in 50 games in the majors. The Mets could have recalled him yesterday in place of Starling Marte, but with Mark Vientos having earned regular playing time, they decided against it. A Pete Alonso or J.D. Martinez trade next month could create another opportunity for Baty. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:32 am

    • On fire at Triple-A
Noel is slashing .402/.471/.705 with nine home runs and a 14.5-percent strikeout rate in his last 30 games for Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: With Kyle Manzardo failing to take a big-league job and run with it and Noel already being on the 40-man roster, Noel could get a shot as Cleveland's designated hitter sometime this summer. The righty-hitting slugger has huge raw power, and while he has seen 25 starts in the corner outfield spots this season, he's probably too big (6-foot-3, 250 pounds) to get regular starts in the outfield at the highest level.
