The shortstop came into the contest having gone 1-for-21 over his previous seven games and recently missed time due to a shoulder issue, so the long ball was a much-needed positive development.       Iglesias pitched a perfect inning to earn a save against the Nationals on Thursday.

      Advice: Iglesias made quick work of Washington in the ninth inning, needing just nine pitches to set the side down in order. The veteran closer has converted each of his past eight save chances, allowing three runs over 10 frames during that span. Iglesias hasn't been punching out batters at his usual rate this season -- he has just 16 strikeouts through 23.1 innings -- but he nonetheless is tied for fifth in the majors with 16 saves (in 18 chances). In addition to the hot bat, Tatis took advantage of getting on base Thursday by picking up his first steal since May 7.       Evan Phillips was charged with three runs in the eighth inning on Thursday in a non-save situation against the Pirates.

      Advice: Phillips got the call for his first appearance in nearly a week with the Dodgers leading by seven runs at the time and wound up surrendering four hits, including a three-run homer to Oneil Cruz. Fortunately, his struggles didn’t end up impacting the final result of the contest, but it certainly doesn’t do fantasy managers any favors in the ratio departments.       Advice: The home run was Abrams’ 10th of the season. He had slumped and missed time with shoulder soreness last week, but seemed unbothered on Thursday.     • Railes Iglesias gets 16th save Thursday
      Raisel Iglesias tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Nationals on Thursday.



      Advice: The save was Iglesias’ 16th of the season, but his lack of strikeouts this season is evident. He has struck out seven in his last 12 innings.     • MRI reveals bone spur in Joe Musgrove’s elbow
      Joe Musgrove underwent an MRI that revealed a bone spur and contusion in his right elbow.

      Advice: Musgrove, who landed on the injured list last weekend with right elbow inflammation, received both a PRP and cortisone injections to address the issue and hopes to resume throwing in roughly two weeks. The 31-year-old righty told reporters arthroscopic surgery is possible if the issue doesn’t improve, but that’s not being considered as an option for now.
