    • Ryan Stanek notches third save for Mariners
Ryne Stanek picked up his third save with a perfect ninth Tuesday against the Astros.

Advice: Andrés Muñoz worked the previous two days, so he had this one off. Stanek has a 4.26 ERA and a 21/6 K/BB in 19 innings as the primary fallback in the Seattle pen. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago

    • Ryan Pressly takes fourth blown save, second loss
Ryan Pressly took his fourth blown save and second loss after giving up three runs — two earned — in the eighth inning Tuesday against the Mariners.

Advice: Pressly’s velocity is down some, but his peripherals remain strong. Nevertheless, he’s sporting a 5.31 ERA at the moment. He’s given up half as many hits (27) in 20 1/3 innings this year that he did in 65 1/3 innings last season (54). If the Astros ever do lose Josh Hader for a time, they might have to turn to Bryan Abreu over Pressly in the closer’s role. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago
    • Takes blown save
Holmes allowed two hits in one-third of an inning, taking a blown save in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Angels.

Advice: Holmes inherited two runners from Luke Weaver and allowed both to score on a Taylor Ward double that flipped the Yankees' one-run lead to a one-run deficit. While he wasn't charged with either run, Holmes ended up taking his third blown save of the season, two of which have come in his last four outings. Despite the recent troubles, he's still at a 1.54 ERA and 26:6 K:BB this year, though his 1.24 WHIP is less encouraging. Holmes is still the Yankees' top closing option with 15 saves on the season. • Secures save Tuesday
Estevez pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Yankees.

Advice: The Angels rallied ahead in the bottom of the eighth inning, and Estevez made the lead stand. The closer has allowed four runs (three earned) over 8.1 innings in May while adding three saves, one blown save and two losses. He's at a 4.76 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 17:3 K:BB over 17 innings this season, but he continues to operate in the closer role despite his shaky pitching. Rotowire.com Today, 10:45 pm
    • Carlos Estévez notches eighth save against Yankees
Carlos Estévez recorded his eighth save with a flawless ninth Tuesday against the Yankees.

Advice: The rare perfect inning from Estévez pulled his ERA back down to 4.76. He did go without a strikeout for a third straight appearance, but it’s unlikely that anyone with the Angels noticed. Rotoworld Today, 10:28 pm
    • Clay Holmes takes blown save against Angels
Clay Holmes took his third blown save after giving up two hits in the eighth Tuesday against the Angels.

Advice: Holmes wasn’t charged with a run. He was brought in after setup man extraordinaire Luke Weaver got into trouble in a 3-2 game in the eighth and gave up a two-run double to Taylor Ward to blow the lead. He then allowed a soft infield single versus the shift before finishing the inning. Obviously, it would have been nice if Holmes couldn’t have gotten out of the jam here, but allowing one well-hit ball doesn’t reflect all that poorly on him. Rotoworld Today, 10:28 pm
    • Collects second win
Smith (2-0) allowed a hit and struck out three without walking a batter over 1.1 scoreless innings to earn the win Tuesday versus the Rockies.

Advice: Smith got the final out of the sixth inning and also pitched the seventh after the Guardians regained the lead. The rookie right-hander has an eight-inning scoreless streak going, and he's posted a 13:1 K:BB in that span while adding a save and three holds. Smith continues to see an increasing role in the late innings, one that he's earned by pitching to a 1.82 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 37:7 K:BB over 24.2 innings this season. Rotowire.com Today, 9:45 pm
    • Records eighth save
Yates allowed a hit and a walk while striking out two over one scoreless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: This was Yates' first save since May 8, as opportunities have been few and far between for saves recently. He pitched four times between saves, allowing one run on two hits and three walks over three innings. The right-hander has eight saves, two holds, a 0.90 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 25:10 K:BB over 20 innings this season. Rotowire.com Today, 9:01 pm

    • Picks up win in relief outing
Heaney (1-6) earned the win Tuesday over the Diamondbacks, allowing two hits and a walk while striking out one over 2.1 scoreless innings of relief.

Advice: Heaney essentially piggybacked Nathan Eovaldi, who was returning from a four-week absence with a groin strain. Heaney's last two starts have both been under four innings, so it's possible the Rangers are preparing him for a bullpen role once their rotation is healthier. In the short term, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports Heaney could be deployed as a long reliever again later in the week due to the schedule giving the Rangers two off days this week. Texas hasn't released its projected starters for this weekend's series at Miami, so it's unclear when Heaney may pitch or start again. Rotowire.com Today, 8:56 pm
