    • Rockies option Sean Bouchard to Triple-A
Rockies optioned 1B/OF Sean Bouchard to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Advice: Bouchard’s latest stint with the Rockies resulted in just two hits over four contests as he heads back to the minors with veteran Charlie Blackmon back from the injured list prior to Saturday’s game against the White Sox. Rotoworld Today, 8:25 am

    • Returns from IL
The Rockies reinstated Blackmon (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Saturday.

Advice: Blackmon has been held out of action since he strained his right hamstring June 18 against the Dodgers, but he was able to recover quickly and will now return from the IL following a minimum-length stay. The 37-year-old outfielder had been heating up at the plate prior to getting injured, slashing .333/.397/.509 across 63 plate appearances since the beginning of June. Sean Bouchard (back) was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 8:23 am
    • Sitting Saturday
Jimenez is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: Jimenez will begin Saturday's contest in the dugout after starting in the last two games, going 1-for-6 with one walk. It's a planned off day for Jimenez, who is still working his way back from a left hamstring strain.Gavin Sheets (heel) will serve as the designated hitter and bat in the cleanup spot against Colorado right-hander Cal Quantrill. • Starting Saturday
Sheets (heel) is serving as the designated hitter and batting in the cleanup spot for Saturday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: Sheets returns to the starting lineup Saturday after missing the last two games due to a bruised left heel he sustained Wednesday against the Dodgers. The 28-year-old lefty pinch hit in the bottom of the sixth inning of Friday's 5-3 win over Colorado, reaching base on his only at-bat on an intentional walk. For the month of June, Sheets is slashing .257/.321/.419 with three home runs and nine RBI over 74 at-bats. Rotowire.com Today, 8:08 am

    • Records three hits in another start
Jones went 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI in Friday's 16-5 victory versus the Blue Jays.

Advice: Jones was plugged into the No. 9 spot in the order while serving as the team's designated hitter in his third start over New York's past four games. The 26-year-old responded with his first multi-hit game of the campaign -- in fact, his three knocks Friday equaled the amount of hits he had collected over his previous 18 plate appearances coming into the contest. Jones has been used mostly as a pinch runner and defensive replacement this season, though he could continue to see more opportunities in the short term while Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) remains on the injured list. • Dropped in order against lefty
Carroll batted seventh and went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Friday's 9-4 loss to the Athletics.

Advice: Carroll was dropped from the top of the order to seventh against a left-hander, though it's unclear if this was a specific adjustment for one game or part of a larger plan going forward against lefties. Carroll appeared to put a season-opening slump behind him earlier this month but was 3-for-22 (.136) over seven games entering Friday. It seems odd that manager Torey Lovullo would drop him after a one-week slump. More should be learned Saturday, when the A's scheduled starter is lefty Hogan Harris. • Ends power drought Friday
McNeil went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run and a second run scored in Friday's 7-2 win over the Astros.

Advice: The second baseman took Ronel Blanco deep in the sixth inning, the third of three Mets homers on the night. It was McNeil's first long ball since May 22, snapping a 23-game power outage, and the performance was his first three-hit game since May 7. He'll need more than one good game to earn the trust of fantasy GMs again, however -- on the season, McNeil is slashing a feeble .212/.283/.312 with four home runs, four steals, 19 RBI and 31 runs in 72 contests. • Jeff McNeil gets right with three hits, home run
Jeff McNeil went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer and two runs scored in the Mets’ 7-2 win over the Astros on Friday.

Advice: McNeil has been waiting all season for a game like this. The home run was his first at Citi Field since September 24th of last year and oddly his first long ball this season outside the state of Ohio. The signs of life are encouraging, but McNeil’s batting average still sits at a lowly .221. Even a minor hot streak would make him worth a look in deeper leagues since the Mets continue to start him every day. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:22 pm

    • No structural damage in knee
Winker said after Friday's game versus Tampa Bay that imaging had revealed no structural damage in his right knee, and he's hoping he'll be able to play Saturday, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Advice: Winker tweaked his knee after his foot got caught in the outfield turf while running down a flyball during the first inning Friday. He had to come out of the game early and was noticeably limping as he walked to the dugout, though it appears he managed to avoid a significant injury. Winker's defensive duties could be limited the rest of the season, as top prospect James Wood is expected to join the big-league roster Monday and take over in left field.
