    • Taylor Ward (head) likely to play Tuesday
Angels manager Ron Washington said after the game that Taylor Ward was fine after being hit in the helmet by a pitch.

Advice: It sounds like Ward will be ready to go after the off day Monday. He left Sunday’s game in the ninth after a Shelby Miller fastball got him on the ear flap. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:40 pm

    • Blasts eighth home run
Yelich went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's win against the Cubs.

Advice: Yelich took Kyle Hendricks deep in the fourth inning as part of a seven-run frame for the Brewers. The 32-year-old outfielder has underwhelmed in the power department with just eight home runs, but he has batted .321 (99th percentile) while racking up 18 steals in 19 attempts across 58 games this season. • Exits after being hit in head
Ward (head) exited Sunday's game against the Tigers in the bottom of the ninth inning after being hit the in head by a pitch, Greg Beacham of The Associated Press reports. He went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in his first three plate appearances of the day.

Advice: Ward was struck in the head after a 93 mph fastball got away from reliever Shelby Miller. The outfielder looked to be OK after getting hit, with his removal from the contest potentially being a matter of precaution, according to Beacham. The 30-year-old missed the final three months of the 2023 campaign after being hit in the face by a pitch from Toronto starter Alek Manoah, making the situation Sunday particularly jarring. Ward's status will likely receive an update in the near future, but at the moment, he appears to have avoided any significant injury. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:47 pm

    • Taylor Ward exits but apparently OK after beaning
Taylor Ward left Sunday’s game in the ninth inning after being hit in the helmet by a pitch.

Advice: Ward seemed OK afterwards and was able to walk off without incident. Ward missed the final two months of last season with facial fractures after getting hit in the head by a pitch. Fortunately, this one today only hit the side of his helmet. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:43 pm

    • Continues to dominate
Bradley (3-4) earned the win Sunday, allowing no runs on three hits and two walks over 5.2 innings against the Nationals. He struck out 11.

Advice: Bradley held the Nationals off the board while matching a season high in strikeouts. Since allowing nine runs and four homers against Baltimore on June 1, Bradley has been on a heater, posting five-consecutive starts allowing two earned runs or fewer while accumulating double-digit strikeout totals during two of those outings. During that stretch, he's completed 29 innings, allowing just four earned runs (1.24 ERA) with a 1.00 WHIP and 40 strikeouts. He'll look to keep things rolling during his next start, tentatively slated to take place next weekend when the Rays travel to Arlington to take on the Rangers. • Yelich pops eighth home run in win Sunday
Christian Yelich went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run against the Cubs on Sunday.

Advice: The home run was Yelich’s eighth of the year. His power isn’t what it was earlier in his career. Yelich has a .166 ISO on the season and hasn’t had at least a .200 ISO since 2020. It’s always nice to see him pop a home run even if it was off Kyle Hendricks. Yelich is hitting .321 with an .885 OPS and 36 RBI this year.

    • Taj Bradley strikes out 11 in win
Taj Bradley blanked the Nationals over 5 2/3 innings in a 5-0 win on Sunday. He struck out 11 and walked two.

Advice: Bradley was dominant in this one. The 11 punch-outs matched his season-high and the Nationals were helpless against his terrific fastball. Living in the top of the zone, it forced 10 swings and misses and brilliantly set up his diving splitter. Bradley looks every bit the top-end starter he was billed as. • Out of Sunday's lineup
Ruiz is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Advice: Ruiz has a .639 OPS in his past 10 games and will head to the bench for the series finale in Tampa Bay. Drew Millas will step in behind the plate to catch for lefty Patrick Corbin. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:31 am

    • Records fourth steal in loss
Raleigh went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in a loss to the Twins on Saturday.

Advice: Raleigh is much more renowned for his power than his speed, but he's now up to a career-high four stolen bases with Saturday's swipe. The slugging backstop has reached safely in seven straight games, a stretch during which he owns a .429 on-base percentage thanks in large part to a 25.0 percent walk rate.
