• X-Rays return negative for Gabriel Moreno (thumb)
Diamondbacks’ manager Torey Lovullo told reporters after Friday’s game that X-rays came back negative for any structural damage on the injured thumb of catcher Gabriel Moreno.

Advice: Lovullo is hopeful that Moreno will be able to avoid a stint on the injured list but noted that he’ll have to wait and see how he’s feeling on Saturday morning to make a full determination. In the meantime, expect Tucker Barnhart to draw a start behind the plate on Saturday. Rotoworld Today, 7:30 pm

  • Was available Friday
Manager Aaron Boone said Torres (groin) was available Friday against Atlanta, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: Despite being available, Torres never entered the game, leaving his status for Saturday's contest ambiguous. Jahmai Jones or Oswaldo Cabrera would likely enter the lineup if Torres is forced to miss a second consecutive game. Rotowire.com Today, 7:29 pm

  • Jahmai Jones triples and scores for Yankees
Jahmai Jones went 1-for-3 with a triple, walk, and run scored Friday against the Braves.

Advice: The Yankees’ offense was held to just one run and three hits in this one as Chris Sale and the Braves’ bullpen shut them down. Jones was the lone bright spot in just his fourth start of the season. It’s unlikely he earns a legitimate role but could get a handful more spot starts as long as Gleyber Torres remains out with a groin injury. Rotoworld Today, 7:27 pm

  • Homers, reaches three times in win
Pederson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 5-4 win over the Phillies on Friday.

Advice: Pederson hit a solo home run in the third inning, singled in the fifth and walked in the seventh. Over his last 10 games, Pederson has gone 12-for-31 with three homers, 13 RBI and nine runs scored. Pederson only has eight at-bats against left-handed pitchers this season, but he is crushing righties to the tune of a .306/.398/.529 slash with nine home runs, 33 RBI and 28 runs scored in 170 at-bats. • Austin Riley stays hot with another homer
Austin Riley went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored, and two walks on Friday against the Yankees.

Advice: Riley’s OPS has climbed from .618 to .744 in exactly one week. That is truly remarkable. It already feels like his putrid April and May will be a distant memory soon. If there was any question, the buy-low window on Riley has slammed shut. Rotoworld Today, 7:27 pm

  • Trea Turner hits first home run off IL
Trea Turner went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Turner has hit safely in all three games since returning from his hamstring injury yet this home run was his first extra-base hit. He smacked it 110.6 MPH off the bat, two MPH harder than he’s hit a ball all season. That’s a welcome sight because his power lagged before the injury with just three home runs in April before going down. Rotoworld Today, 7:19 pm

  • Homers, drives in three in loss
Turner went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in a 5-4 loss to the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Turner hit a two-run home run off Jordan Montgomery in the third inning then added an RBI single with the bases loaded in the seventh. Turner has gone 5-for-14 since returning from the injured list with a hamstring injury, and the homer was his first since April 17. He has been excellent when healthy this season, slashing .344/.389/.470 with three home runs, 12 RBI, 29 runs scored and 10 steals over 162 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 7:19 pm

  • Joc Pederson homers, on-base three times Friday
Joc Pederson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and walk on Friday against the Phillies.

Advice: Pederson, Lourdes Gurriel, and Gabriel Moreno all jumped on Taijuan Walker for third inning home runs in this one. Pederson has been a revelation for managers in daily leagues this season with a .927 OPS against right-handers as a mainstay in the heart of Arizona’s lineup. Rotoworld Today, 7:19 pm
  • Exits game with elbow soreness
Gurriel exited Friday's game against the Phillies due to left elbow soreness.

Advice: Gurriel appeared to have sustained the injury during his at-bat in the top of the seventh inning, per Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com. He's the second Arizona player to leave Friday's game, with catcher Gabriel Moreno leaving in the sixth inning due to a sprained left thumb. Before exiting, Gurriel went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the second inning. He was replaced by Randal Grichuk, who came into the game in right field with Jake McCarthy shifting to left.
