• Alek Manoah (shoulder) off IL for Sunday start
Blue Jays activated Alek Manoah off the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Manoah comes off the injured list to make his season debut against the Nationals on Sunday. The right-hander had mixed results in his rehab appearances, but he was excellent Tuesday with 12 strikeouts over six innings in his finale. Manoah was one of the worst fantasy options in baseball last year, but isn’t far removed from being one of the best. Simply put, there’s as much risk — if not more — as there is reward with Manoah’s profile. Rotoworld 7 minutes ago

  • Whitlock (oblique) ‘feels good’ after bullpen
Garrett Whitlock told reporters Sunday that he felt good after his bullpen session Saturday.

Advice: Whitlock will now take at least a couple days off before his next bullpen session, which has yet to be scheduled. The right-hander will likely need to make one or two more before a potential rehab assignment. There’s still no clear timetable as to when any of this can happen, however. • Sent back to Triple-A
The Royals optioned Selby to Triple-A Omaha on Sunday.

Advice: After being acquired from the Pirates on April 7, Selby was summoned from Triple-A on Tuesday and was able to make his Royals debut during his brief stint with the big club. He made two appearances out of the Kansas City bullpen, giving up three runs (two earned) on two hits and two walks over three innings in back-to-back appearances versus the Rangers on Friday and Saturday. • Zack Thompson could be option for Cards on Friday
Cardinals manager Oli Marmol told reporters that Zack Thompson could be an option for St. Louis on Friday against the Brewers.

Advice: Marmol told reporters that Thompson was not in consideration for Sunday’s start as they want the 26-year-old to continue to work on things. Matthew Liberatore is getting the start Sunday, but depending on how things go, St. Louis may not have a choice but to go with Thompson over the weekend. Rotoworld 22 minutes ago

  • Javier (neck) could rejoin Astros during road trip
Cristian Javier (neck) could rejoin the Astros rotation during their upcoming road trip.

Advice: Javier didn’t pitch particularly well Saturday during his rehab start with Double-A Corpus Christi, but the three runs allowed over 3 1/3 innings aren’t what’s important. What does matter is that Javier felt good after the start, and he was able to throw 68 pitches. The Astros really need the rotation help right now, and while they won’t rush Javier back, the chance for a return in the next week or so looks promising. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago

  • Returns from IL on Friday
Kelly (shoulder) was reinstated from the 7-day injured list Friday and struck out one over a scoreless inning of relief in Triple-A Round Rock's 13-1 win over Albuquerque.

Advice: Kelly was shelved for just under a month with a shoulder injury before he returned to action for Round Rock earlier this week. The southpaw has made four appearances out of the Triple-A bullpen this season, striking out six while allowing one earned run on two hits and two walks over 3.2 innings. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago
  • Jose Urquidy (forearm) has live BP moved to Tuesday
Jose Urquidy (forearm) had his live bullpen session pushed back to Tuesday.

Advice: Urquidy was scheduled to make that live BP session Sunday, but he’ll get a couple extra days before returning. The right-hander was able to throw 30 pitches in a similar session Wednesday, and he likely will up that total a smidgen once it takes place. Urquidy could be back with the Astros and their injury-riddled rotation by the end of May. Rotoworld 38 minutes ago

  • Faces hitters in live session
Senga (shoulder) completed a 32-pitch live batting practice session Saturday, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: Facing hitters in extended live BP session marks a major milestone in Senga's recovery from a right posterior shoulder capsule strain, which caused him to miss most of spring training and resulted in him opening the season on the 15-day injured list before he was shifted to the 60-day IL on April 10. He won't be eligible to make his season debut until May 27, but Senga appears on target to return on or around that date based on where he currently stands in his recovery. The Mets will see how he bounces back from Saturday's throwing session over the next couple of days before deciding whether he's ready to report to a minor-league affiliate to begin a rehab assignment, or if he'll need to throw another live BP before doing so. • Senga (shoulder) throws 32 pitches in live BP
Kodai Senga (shoulder) threw 32 pitches in his live bullpen session Saturday.

Advice: Senga has now faced live hitters twice this week. The Mets will now determine the next steps for the right-hander in the coming days, as they want to see how he responds before deciding when he’ll begin a rehab assignment. There’s a very good chance he does begin that assignment at this point, however, and he’s on track to make his return around May 27 — the earliest Senga can be activated off the 60-day IL.
