• Not starting Saturday
Nido isn't in the Mets' lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Advice: Nido will get a day off after going 0-for-2 with a sac fly during Friday's series opener. Omar Narvaez will fill in behind the plate and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Today, 7:30 am

  • Yasmani Grandal posts two RBI in return to lineup
Yasmani Grandal went 1-for-5 with a pair of RBI on Friday in his return to the Pirates’ lineup.

Advice: Grandal wound up missing a pair of contests following an early exit from Tuesday’s showdown against the Giants with left groin discomfort. The 35-year-old veteran will continue splitting the catching duties with Joey Bart for now. Rotoworld Today, 6:43 am

  • Launches game-winning slam
Bailey went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and a stolen base in Friday's 8-7 win over the Mets.

Advice: The 24-year-old backstop took Reed Garrett deep in the eighth inning to put the Giants ahead 7-6 and help them make history, as they became only the fourth team since 1900 to win three straight games in which it had been trailing in by four or more runs. Bailey has gone 5-for-11 in four games since returning from a concussion, and on the season he's slashing .301/.352/.495 with four homers, two steals, 13 runs and 16 RBI in 30 contests. • Sean Murphy batting .355 on rehab assignment
Sean Murphy (oblique) went 2-for-5 with an RBI on Friday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Gwinnett.

Advice: Murphy homered in back-to-back contests to kick-off his rehab assignment prior to Friday’s game. He’s batting .357 (5-for-14) and appears close to returning to Atlanta’s lineup, possibly at some point this weekend. Rotoworld Today, 6:18 am

  • Pops clutch homer
Stallings hit a solo home run in his only plate appearance Friday against the Phillies.

Advice: Stallings entered the game as a pinch hitter in the ninth inning and took Jose Alvarado yard to tie the game at 2-2. It was his third home run of the season, all of which have come in May. Even with the positive results for Stallings, Elias Diaz will continue to pick up the majority of starts behind the plate for the Rockies. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:49 pm
  • William Conteras goes 2-for-4, hits two-run homer
William Contreras went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a walk as the Brewers bested the Red Sox 7-2 on Friday.

Advice: Contreras has been the NL’s third-best player to date — and top non-Dodger — while batting .337/.412/.538. If this keeps up, he ought to be treated better in the MVP balloting this time around. There was an argument for him as the NL’s fifth-best player last year, but he wound up 11th in the MVP balloting then. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:47 pm
  • Patrick Bailey hits go-ahead grand slam
Patrick Bailey went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and stolen base in the Giants 8-7 win over the Mets on Friday.

Advice: Bailey silenced the crowd in Queens and turned a three-run deficit into a lead the Giants wouldn’t relinquish. Fantasy managers certainly love the unexpected stolen base too, a heady move by Bailey with Edwin Díaz on the mound who struggles to hold runners on. Something seems to have clicked for Bailey who’s carrying an .847 OPS this season and has the underlying metrics to match this breakout. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:29 pm
  • Keibert Ruiz goes 2-for-3, homers
Keibert Ruiz went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run on Friday in a win over the Mariners.

Advice: The homer was a welcome sight for Ruiz who’s carrying a puny .477 OPS into Memorial Day weekend. Perhaps this starts a power surge as the weather starts to warm in Washington, but he’s been very disappointing to this point in 2024. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:08 pm

  • Set for batting practice Saturday
Alvarez (thumb) is set to participate in batting practice Saturday, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: Alvarez landed on the 10-day IL after tearing the UCL in his left thumb April 19, and the 22-year-old catcher is on track for a return by late June. Alvarez was slashing .236/.288/.364 with one home run and eight RBI over 59 plate appearances prior to his injury. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:22 pm
