• Jorge Soler (shoulder) continues rehab assignment
Jorge Soler (shoulder) will play another minor league rehab contest on Thursday for Triple-A Sacramento.

Advice: Soler went 0-for-4 with a strikeout on Wednesday in his rehab assignment debut. The 32-year-old slugger checked out fine after being hit in the head by a deflection during batting practice earlier this week and should be ready to return to San Francisco’s lineup at some point in the near future. He landed on the injured list earlier this month with a right shoulder strain. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:30 pm

  • Return imminent
Heyward (back) rejoined the Dodgers on Thursday but was not activated from the injured list, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Heyward began a rehab assignment Tuesday and appeared in two games with Triple-A Oklahoma City, during which he went 0-for-6. Manager Dave Roberts said Heyward is ready to return soon, so it's likely he'll be activated at some point during the Dodgers' weekend series against the Reds. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:18 pm

  • Joey Wiemer (knee) starts rehab assignment
Joey Wiemer (knee) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Thursday with Triple-A Nashville.

Advice: Wiemer landed on the injured list earlier this month with left knee discomfort and could wind up remaining in the minors once his rehab assignment is up. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:20 pm

  • Starts rehab assignment
Soler (shoulder) went 0-for-4 with one strikeout in his first rehab game with Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday.

Advice: Soler had a freak accident Tuesday when he was hit in the head by a ball while taking batting practice, but he came out of the incident no worse for wear and was cleared to begin his rehab assignment a day later. The slugger is coming back from a right shoulder strain and should be activated from the 10-day injured list in the coming days. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:09 am

  • Absent from lineup again
Happ is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Atlanta, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: Happ is on the bench for the second game in a row, so he could be dealing with an unreported injury. Mike Tauchman will cover left field in Happ's stead Wednesday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 1:39 pm

  • Goes deep in win
Benson started in center field and batted leadoff, going 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 6-2 win over Arizona.

Advice: Benson delivered the go-ahead knock in the fifth inning, his first home run since April 27. With TJ Friedl (thumb) landing on the injured list, Benson is likely to shift over to center field against right-handers, while Stuart Fairchild rotates in against lefties. Benson's hit the ball hard, per Statcast, but he has little show for it (.193 batting average, .393 slugging). Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:46 am
  • Launches first homer of 2024
Lowe went 2-for-4 with a double, a solo home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 5-4 extra-innings loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: The 26-year-old outfielder connected on his first long ball of 2024 when he took Nick Pivetta deep in the first inning. Lowe is quickly making up for lost time after missing the first month-plus of the season due to an oblique strain, and in seven games since being activated from the IL he's batting .320 (8-for-25) with four doubles and a homer. • Will Benson homers in Reds’ victory
Will Benson hit a two-run homer as the Reds’ leadoff man Tuesday in the win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Benson figured to play less with TJ Friedl back, but he gained an unfortunate reprieve when Friedl suffered a broken thumb. There’s still some fantasy potential here, even though he’s been an obvious disappointment with his .193/.288/.393 line to date. He now has five homers and eight steals in 153 plate appearances. • Josh Lowe has two hits, HR vs Red Sox
Josh Lowe went 2-for-4 with a walk and a home run in a loss to the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Advice: In the first inning, Lowe took Pivetta deep 385 feet on a ball that left the bat at 107 mph. It was the 26-year-old’s first home run of the season, and he’s now slashing .320/.360/.600 in seven games since coming off the IL. The Rays continue to hit him in the middle of the lineup, and he should be in for another big season if he can stay healthy. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:30 pm
