    Treinen pitched a clean eighth inning while striking out a batter to secure a hold in Sunday's 5-1 win over Atlanta.

    Advice: Treinen entered to begin the eighth with the Dodgers holding onto a 4-1 lead and retired Jarred Kelenic, Ronald Acuna & Ozzie Albies in order, needing just 11 pitches to get through the frame.     Garcia (elbow) completed most recent bullpen session Friday, MLB.com reports.

    Advice: Garcia was cleared to resume throwing off a mound in the middle of April and has remained at the same stage of his recovery program for three weeks. The Astros haven't indicated that Garcia has experienced any setbacks in his recovery from his May 19, 2023 Tommy John surgery, so the right-hander could soon be cleared to face hitters in live batting practice.   • Starts throwing off slope of mound
    Murfee (elbow) was recently cleared to resume throwing off the slope of a mound, MLB.com reports.

    Advice: Murfee is on the mend from July 5, 2023 surgery to repair a torn UCL in his right elbow. The right-hander should soon begin throwing off the top of the mound while gradually ratcheting up the volume and intensity of his bullpen sessions. After that, Murfee will face live hitters in batting practice before eventually heading out on what will likely be an extended minor-league rehab assignment.   • Bests Atlanta for fourth win
    Paxton (4-0) earned the win over Atlanta on Sunday, allowing one run on five hits and two walks while striking out three over 6.2 innings.

    Advice: The only real damage against Paxton came from a solo home run to Marcell Ozuna in the seventh. Paxton put together his most efficient outing of the year, needing only 84 pitches to get 20 outs, as his two walks were his fewest in a start since April 8. Paxton's strikeout numbers remain significantly lower compared to his career numbers, but he's still finding ways to grid out results.   • Report: Tanner Scott could be next Marlin traded
    According to Buster Olney, sources told him that Tanner Scott is “the guy on their roster you’d look at” but Josh Bell could also interest teams as well.

    Advice: After the Marlins traded Luis Arraez this weekend, assuming a firesale would follow was only logical. Scott was electric as the closer for the Marlins last year, but has seen some control issues resurface this season. He has a 2.77 ERA and four saves, but he also has 14 walks in 13 innings. If he were to be traded, he would likely serve as a setup man, and the Marlins could turn back to A.J. Puk in the closer’s role which means Puk could be worth a speculative add in leagues.     Advice: Ohtani moved into a tie for first place in the majors with his ninth and 10th home runs of the season, and his perfect day at the dish also brought his average up to .364, vaulting him past the Phillies' Alec Bohm (.360) for the best mark in baseball. The lefty-hitting Ohtani did all his damage against southpaws, opening the day with a two-run blast in the first inning and base hits in the third and sixth innings off Max Fried before tacking on a 464-foot solo shot off A.J.     Garrett (shoulder) is scheduled to cover around six innings or 75 pitches Monday in a rehab start with the Marlins' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate, MLB.com reports.

    Advice: Garrett made the fourth start of his rehab assignment this past Wednesday with Triple-A Jacksonville and looked sharp over five scoreless innings, scattering one hit and three walks while striking out three. Since he was lifted after 61 pitches, Garrett will need one more outing in the minors to get fully stretched out for starting duty before the Marlins are comfortable bringing him back from the 15-day injured list. Assuming Monday's rehab outing in rookie ball goes smoothly, Garrett should be activated this weekend and will likely slot into the rotation either Saturday or Sunday against the Phillies.     Advice: Though he's been blasted for 15 earned runs over 15.2 innings across his four outings at Triple-A Jacksonville this season, Munoz has breezed through his first two big-league starts with Miami, going 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and 14:3 K:BB in 11 innings. A matchup with the stacked Dodgers offense will represent Munoz's toughest test to date, however, and even a mediocre performance rather than a disastrous one might not be enough to save his spot in the Miami rotation moving forward. The Marlins could get one or both of Jesus Luzardo (elbow) or Braxton Garrett (shoulder) back from the 15-day injured list later this week, and Munoz will be a prime candidate to move out of the rotation once either pitcher is activated.
