    • Scoreless appearance in return
Bird allowed one hit and one walk while striking out two across a scoreless inning Monday against the Dodgers.

Advice: Bird returned after a month-long absence due to an elbow injury. He pitched in the sixth inning with the Rockies down 3-1. While the team brought him back in a low-leverage situation, Bird is tied for fourth on the team with four holds this season. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 7:52 am

    • Clubs ninth homer
Schneider went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: The 25-year-old took Nick Pivetta deep in the seventh inning, but Toronto was in a 7-2 hole at that point. Schneider has been struggling in June, slashing .170/.224/.302 through 16 games, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him moved down in the order from his usual spot hitting first or second. On the season, he's batting .225 with nine homers, three steals, 31 runs and 34 RBI in 65 contests. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 7:37 am

    • Swats 10th homer
Neto went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Monday's 5-3 win against Milwaukee.

Advice: Neto provided what turned out to be the winning margin with his two-run shot in the fourth inning. The long ball was his 10th of the season through 260 plate appearances, one more than he hit across 329 plate appearances as a rookie last year. Three of Neto's homers have come over his past six games, and he's produced seven RBI while batting .318 over that span. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 12:18 am

    • Zach Neto homers to propel Angels past Brewers
Zach Neto hit a two-run homer Monday to lead the Angels to a 5-3 win over the Brewers.

Advice: Angels manager Ron Washington has utterly refused to hit Neto in the top half of the order, but the 23-year-old has been one of the team’s best players in batting .249/.297/.440 with 10 homers in 260 plate appearances. He’s not yet a finished product and it’s possible he’ll struggle to reach his true potential while playing for one of MLB’s most dysfunctional franchises, but the sky really is the limit here. • Schneider blasts ninth home run in loss Monday
Davis Schneider went 1-for-5 with a solo home run against the Red Sox on Monday.

Advice: Schneider’s home run was his ninth. He took Red Sox starter Nick Pivetta deep in the seventh inning. Schneider continues to hit for power with a .201 ISO on the year, but his average is just .225 this season. Rotoworld Monday, 7:23 pm

    • Gives up season-high six runs
Vasquez (1-4) took the loss after he gave up six runs in 4.1 innings Monday against the Phillies. He allowed 12 hits, walked two and struck out two.

Advice: Vasquez was knocked around by the Phillies on Monday, and the 12 hits he allowed were a career high for the righty. Home runs by Kyle Schwarber and Alec Bohm accounted for most of the damage, but Vasquez was working around baserunners all evening. The 25-year-old has now given up at least three runs in seven of his nine starts this season and has a 5.70 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 28:9 K:BB across 42.2 innings. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:18 pm

    • Randy Vásquez allows six runs in loss to Phillies
Randy Vásquez was lit up for six runs over 4 1/3 innings on Monday in a loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Vásquez was tagged for an astounding 12 hits, including a pair of homers, and was saddled with his fourth loss of the year. He struck out two and also issued a pair of walks. The 25-year-old righty is not a recommended fantasy option when he takes the ball on Saturday against the Brewers. Rotoworld Monday, 6:32 pm

    • Returns from IL
The Rockies reinstated Bird (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Monday.

Advice: Bird had been on the IL since May 19 due to right elbow inflammation. Over his three rehab appearances with Triple-A Albuquerque and the rookie-level Arizona Complex League, Bird allowed one earned run while striking out five over three innings. The 28-year-old right-hander should settle into a middle-relief or setup role for the Rockies as the team begins a four-game series Monday against the Dodgers. Rotowire.com Monday, 2:07 pm

    • Rockies activate Jake Bird from injured list
Rockies activated RHP Jake Bird from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Bird had a 6.10 ERA in 19 appearances before going on the injured list with elbow inflammation last month. He’ll try to win back a setup role. Rotoworld Monday, 1:47 pm
