Lopez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Lopez and fellow left-handed hitters Gavin Sheets and Andrew Benintendi will hit the bench as the White Sox go with an all-right-handed-hitting lineup versus Dodgers southpaw James Paxton. Danny Mendick will replace Lopez at second base and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:29 pm

    • Not ready for rehab assignment
Grissom has been cleared for a running program and is making progress in his recovery from a right hamstring strain, but the Red Sox haven't yet cleared him to head out on a minor-league rehab assignment, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Though Grissom seems to be trending in a positive direction as he works his way back from the hamstring strain that sent him to the injured list June 2, he looks to be at least a week away from seeing game action in the minors. Once he's ready to return from the IL, Grissom may not have a regular role waiting for him with the big club, as Enmanuel Valdez has found success as a strong-side platoon player at second base following his call-up from Triple-A Worcester on May 29. Rather than having Grissom displace Valdez as the team's starter or have him occupy the short side of a platoon, the Red Sox may prefer to option Grissom to Worcester upon activating him so that he can receive regular reps. • Back in lineup Monday
Neto (calf) is starting at shortstop and batting sixth for Monday's series opener against Oakland, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Advice: Neto was removed in the fourth inning of Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Dodgers due to left calf tightness. Angels manager Ron Washington said after Saturday's game that the injury was minor, per Sam Blum of The Athletic, and Neto will end up not missing any games with the team having its off day Sunday. Neto is slashing .250/.299/.433 with 10 home runs and 32 RBI across 272 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:38 pm

    • Zach Neto in starting lineup after calf issue
Zach Neto is starting at shortstop Monday after leaving Saturday’s game with calf tightness.

Advice: The very rare Sunday off day for the Angels gave Neto some additional time to recover. He’s batting sixth tonight. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:32 pm

    • Playing time trending upward
Espinal will start at third base and bat seventh in Monday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: Espinal will occupy third base for the fifth time in six games, with three of those starts coming against right-handers. For the second time during that stretch, Espinal will take aim at Pirates lefty Bailey Falter, who takes the hill for the Pirates on Monday. Espinal will carry a five-game hitting streak into Monday's contest, and he could end up handling a near-everyday role in the Cincinnati infield until the team elects to reinstate Noelvi Marte (suspension) to the big-league roster. Marte's 80-game suspension comes to an end Thursday, but he's struggled during his rehab assignment at Triple-A Louisville and could be optioned if the Reds prefer to hand Espinal regular playing time. • Heads back to minors
The Guardians optioned Martinez to Triple-A Columbus on Monday.

Advice: The Guardians gave Martinez a brief look while Gabriel Arias (personal) was away from the team over the weekend while on the family medical emergency list. Arias was activated ahead of Monday's series opener in Baltimore, so Martinez will go back to Triple-A to pick up more regular playing time. He's produced a .333/.438/.550 slash line at Columbus in 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:00 pm

    • Getting Monday off
Rocchio is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles.

Advice: Rocchio will get a breather after he started at shortstop in each of the Guardians' last four games while going 3-for-12 with a double and a walk. Gabriel Arias (personal) was reinstated from the family medical emergency list Monday and will be thrust into the lineup immediately upon his return, replacing Rocchio at shortstop. • Activated, starting Monday
Arias (personal) was reinstated from the family medical emergency list and will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Monday's series opener in Baltimore.

Advice: Cleveland sent infielder Angel Martinez back to Triple-A Columbus to make room on the 26-man active roster for Arias, who rejoins the big club after missing the previous three games while tending to a personal matter. Though he'll immediately enter the lineup in his return to the Guardians as the Orioles send southpaw Cade Povich to the mound, the righty-hitting Arias is expected to serve as a bench player against right-handed pitching more often than not. • Gabriel Arias activated from emergency list
Guardians activated INF Gabriel Arias from the family medical emergency list.

Advice: Arias, who mostly plays against lefties, will return to his utility role after a three-day absence from the team. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:44 pm
