    • Picks up steal in win
Doyle went 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, a stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Doyle opened May cold, going 2-for-23 over a six-game span, but he's bounced back by going 6-for-13 with two steals, four extra-base hits and three RBI over his last four contests. The outfielder is up to a .288/.336/.468 slash line with six steals, four home runs, 11 RBI and 24 runs scored through 152 plate appearances on the year. This was his first game with multiple walks all season -- he's posted a 5.9 percent walk rate and 27.6 percent strikeout rate which has limited Doyle's effectiveness despite his passable contact skills. • Goes deep in win
Goodman went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Goodman has just two hits over seven major-league games this season, but both of them have been homers. He's added a 2:8 BB:K, four RBI and two runs scored through 21 plate appearances this season. Goodman is serving as a bench bat during this stint in the majors, mostly as a backup first baseman behind Elehuris Montero. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago

    • Shows improvement in second start
Clevinger allowed one run on four hits and no walks while striking out five batters over 4.2 innings in a no-decision against Cleveland on Saturday.

Advice: Clevinger struggled mightily in his season debut Monday, giving up four runs (three earned) on six hits and four walks over two innings. The veteran looked much better Saturday, yielding just a fourth-inning run while cutting the free passes entirely out of his stat line. Clevinger needed just one more out to qualify for the win, but he was pulled for a lefty reliever after giving up a single to the final batter he faced in the fifth frame. Despite that minor disappointment, this was a promising outing considering his disastrous previous start, and it should help him as he works to push up his pitch count after missing spring training and signing with Chicago in early April. • Solid in no-decision
Feltner allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four over six innings in a no-decision versus the Rangers on Saturday.

Advice: Feltner ran into some trouble in the fifth inning but otherwise had a solid outing for his third quality start of the season. He's still winless over his last five outings, but he was able to avoid giving up a home run -- Feltner has yet to yield a long ball at home in three Coors Field starts in 2024. Overall, he's at a 5.20 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 40:12 K:BB through 45 innings over eight starts this season. The right-hander is tentatively projected to make his next start on the road at pitcher-friendly Oracle Park in San Francisco. Rotowire.com 10 minutes ago

    • Nursing back tightness
Ohtani was removed from Saturday's game versus the Padres due to back tightness, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said his level of concern regarding the injury is "minimal," but the skipper is leaning toward holding Ohtani out of Sunday's lineup as a precaution. Roberts will wait to see how Ohtani feels Sunday morning before making a final determination. Before exiting Saturday's contest, Ohtani went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. • Implodes in seventh inning
Kittredge (0-2) allowed three runs on two hits and a walk without striking out a batter in two-thirds of an inning to take the loss Saturday versus the Brewers.

Advice: Kittredge allowed just one run over his first 13 appearances of the season, but he's now given up four runs across his last three outings to begin May. Rhys Hoskins tagged the reliever for a three-run home run in the seventh inning Saturday, giving Kittredge his second blown save and second loss of the campaign. The right-hander is at a still-solid 2.87 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 15:4 K:BB while adding 10 holds over 15.2 innings, but it appears his dominance from early in the season has given way to regression. • On base three times in loss
Julien went 2-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 10-8 loss to the Blue Jays.

Advice: The 25-year-old Canadian put together a solid performance in Toronto as the Twins' leadoff hitter. The multi-hit performance was Julien's first since April 27, snapping a slump that had seen him hit just .097 (3-for-31) over the prior 12 games, while the steal was his fourth of the season, establishing a new career high after he swiped three in 109 games last year as a rookie. • Goes yard again Saturday
Santana went 2-for-4 with a double, a three-run home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 10-8 loss to the Blue Jays.

Advice: His third-inning homer off Kevin Gausman gave the Twins a 7-1 lead, but things went south for the visitors after that. Santana has gone deep in back-to-back games, giving him six home runs and 15 RBI in his last 16 games as he digs his way out of an early-season hole. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

    • Goes deep twice in victory
Carpenter went 2-for-5 with two homers and three total RBI against Houston in an 8-2 win Saturday.

Advice: Carpenter capped a seven-run second inning for Detroit with a two-run shot to right field and added a solo homer in the fourth. The pair of long balls snapped an 18-game homerless stretch for the outfielder, who belted 20 home runs in his first full MLB season last year. Saturday's multi-homer game was the third of Carpenter's career. Rotowire.com 26 minutes ago
