Rutschman went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and a walk in a loss to the Athletics on Saturday.
Advice: Rutschman's three-run blast in the seventh inning didn't have much of an impact on the outcome since Oakland still led 17-4 at that point, but it may have been a momentum-shifter personally after he had collected just one hit over his previous 19 at-bats. The long ball also moved him into second place for homers among MLB catchers with 16 on the campaign. Only Oakland's Shea Langeliers -- who hit his 17th homer in the same contest Saturday -- has more home runs among big-league backstops. Rotowire.comToday, 10:16 pm
Ryan (6-5) earned the win against the Astros on Saturday, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk with eight strikeouts over 5.2 innings.
Advice: Ryan surrendered a run in the third inning and a two-run homer in the fourth while receiving plenty of early run support from his teammates. He generated 15 swinging strikes on 110 pitches and has completed at least five frames in each of his 18 starts this season. On the year, the 28-year-old owns an impressive 3.29 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 118:16 K:BB through 109.1 innings and lines up to face the Giants next week. Rotowire.comToday, 5:58 pm
Julio Rodríguez is scheduled to undergo an MRI exam after leaving Saturday’s game against the Blue Jays in the first inning due to discomfort in his lower right quad area.
Advice: The 23-year-old outfielder looked uncomfortable while tracking a fly ball in the outfield during the top half of the first inning, then he was replaced by Ty France before he had a chance to take his first at-bat. The Mariners should have the results of his imaging before Sunday’s game, so expect another update on his status before then. RotoworldToday, 4:38 pm
Rodriguez was removed from Saturday's game against the Blue Jays with discomfort in his lower right quad, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports. Rodriguez will undergo an MRI Saturday night.
Advice: Rodriguez was lifted from the contest in the second inning before making a plate appearance with what we now know was left quad soreness. Saturday's MRI should provide more information on the severity of the injury. The Mariners will close out its series with Toronto on Sunday before having a team off day Monday. Adley Rutschman hits three-run homer in blowout loss
Adley Rutschman hit a three-run homer in a blowout loss Saturday to the Athletics.
Advice: The Orioles were able to put up an eight-spot, which is usually more than enough to win a game. Baltimore needed another dozen to win this one. Still, Rutschman makes fantasy managers happy with a three-run shot in the seventh inning to make it a 17-4 lead for Oakland. They all count. RotoworldToday, 4:14 pm
Manager Rob Thomson said Saturday that Harper (hamstring) had a "good day" running the bases and will run the bases again Sunday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
Advice: Harper has been dealing with a low-grade hamstring strain since June 27 but has been progressing well enough to potentially return prior to the All-Star break. The 31-year-old was participating in on-field drills at 70-75 percent intensity earlier this week and is slated to run the bases again Sunday. Harper becomes eligible to come off the injured list Tuesday. Rotowire.comToday, 2:41 pm
Bryce Harper (hamstring) ran the bases without any issues on Saturday.
Advice: In fact, the session went so well that the 31-year-old superstar is going to repeat the process on Sunday. Kyle Schwarber is expected to be activated from the injured list on Tuesday, and Harper isn’t expected to be far behind him. If Sunday’s session goes well, it’s not out of the question that he could be ready on Tuesday as well. The Phillies’ offense should be getting some strong reinforcements next week. Joe Ryan allowed three runs with eight strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in a win over the Astros on Saturday.
Advice: Ryan pitched two clean frames before a pair of doubles brought a run in to score for Houston in the third. Jon Singleton then hit a two-run homer in the fourth. Ryan worked into the sixth before leaving with the bases loaded and two outs. He struck out eight on the day. The 28-year-old right-hander will take a 3.29 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and a 118/16 K/BB ratio across 109 1/3 innings into a start against the Giants in San Francisco on Friday. RotoworldToday, 1:52 pm
Rodriguez was removed from Saturday's game against the Blue Jays in the second inning, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Advice: Rodriguez never made a plate appearance Saturday, and it's not immediately apparent why he had to come out of the game, but the Blue Jays should offer some more clarity soon. In the meantime, Luke Raley will move out to center field while Ty France mans first base. Rotowire.comToday, 1:35 pm
