    • Slams door for 11th save
Finnegan walked one batter during one scoreless inning to pick up the save Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Finnegan has not allowed an earned run over his last 13 appearances and converted his 10th straight save opportunity for the surprising Nationals, who moved to .500 on the season with the win. Finnegan now carries a 1.88 ERA and 0.91 WHIP with his 11 total saves matching Clay Holmes and Ryan Helsley for the major league lead in that department. Rotowire.com 41 minutes ago
    • Solid over six frames versus Boston
Ryan (1-2) was tagged with the loss after he pitched six innings, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out five batters in Sunday's 9-2 defeat to the Red Sox.

Advice: Ryan tossed three scoreless frames to open his outing Sunday before giving up an RBI double to Rob Refsnyder in the fourth and then a two-run homer to Ceddanne Rafaela in the fifth inning. The right-hander has now recorded three straight quality starts and he has yet to allow more than three runs in any outing this season. Ryan will carry a 3.54 ERA and 1.01 WHIP into his next projected start Friday in Toronto. Rotowire.com 53 minutes ago

    • David Robertson gets first save in 10th inning
David Robertson pitched a hitless 10th with a one-run lead for his first save Sunday against the Royals.

Advice: Kirby Yates wound up with the win after pitching scoreless eighth and ninth innings. It’s a good reminder that even though Robertson was bypassed in favor of Yates after José Leclerc was removed from the closing gig, he’s still intriguing in mixed leagues. He has a 1.02 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 17 2/3 innings. Rotoworld Today, 4:57 pm
    • Spencer Torkelson has two doubles, RBI in loss
Spencer Torkelson went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and an RBI as the Tigers fell to the Yankees on Sunday afternoon in New York.

Advice: Torkelson smacked a two-out double off of Nestor Cortes in the second inning, but was left stranded there. He then got the Tigers on the board with a run-scoring double off of Ian Hamilton in the seventh inning. He’s still searching for his first home run of the season, but he does have 11 doubles and perhaps his bat is finally showing some signs of life. On the season, he’s slashing .216/.283/.304 with 12 RBI. Rotoworld Today, 3:05 pm
    • Resumes throwing program
Rodriguez (shoulder) played catch from 60-to-75 feet Sunday, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Advice: Rodriguez landed on the injured list with shoulder inflammation following his April 29 start against the Yankees, and he ended up being shut down from throwing for only a few days. The right-hander could soon ramp up to bullpen sessions, and it remains to be seen if he'll require a minor-league rehab assignment before rejoining Baltimore's rotation. Rotowire.com Today, 2:29 pm
    • Joe Ryan gets loss after quality start
Joe Ryan pitched six innings and allowed three runs Sunday in a loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Ryan still hasn’t allowed more than three earned runs in a start and he’s completed six innings five times, but all he has to show for it is a 1-2 record to go along with his 3.54 ERA and 46/6 K/BB ratio. He’ll get the Blue Jays next. Rotoworld Today, 2:24 pm

    • Ready to go Sunday
Bohm (hip) is starting at third base and batting fifth Sunday against the Giants, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Advice: The 27-year-old was removed from Saturday's contest due to right hip tightness but is back in the starting nine a day later. Bohm has been one of the best hitters in baseball through the first five weeks of the season with a .364/.435/.579 slash line in 34 games. Rotowire.com Today, 1:11 pm

    • Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) throws from 75 feet
Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) was able to throw off flat ground Sunday.

Advice: Orioles pitching coach Drew French told reporters that Rodriguez threw from 60-75 foot away and that it was a “good day” for him. The right-hander has been on the shelf since May 1 with shoulder inflammation, and while there’s no timetable for his return, it’s certainly a positive development that he’s able to throw a few days later. • Homers off bench Saturday
Merrifield went 1-for-2 with a solo homer and a walk in Saturday's win over the Giants.

Advice: Merrifield didn't start the game but entered in the third inning for the injured Alec Bohm (hip) and wound up going deep off reliever Erik Miller later in the contest. Bohm is expected to be fine, but Merrifield could potentially see more action at second base in the coming weeks if the Phillies decide to shift Bryson Stott over to shortstop some days to cover for Trea Turner (hamstring). Merrifield is slashing .250/.308/.417 with two home runs and three steals over 16 games this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:27 pm
