    • Allows six runs in loss
Megill (2-4) took the loss against the Cubs on Saturday, allowing six runs on five hits and three walks with six strikeouts over three innings.

Advice: Megill allowed six baserunners and five runs in a disastrous 38-pitch first inning. He managed six strikeouts over the next two frames but also surrendered a solo home run to Christopher Morel and was replaced to open the fourth at 78 pitches. The outing was Megill's worst of the season, and he has now yielded 15 earned runs over 17.2 innings in four June starts. He owns a 4.81 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 43:16 K:BB through 33.2 innings in 2024 and lines up to face the Astros next week. Rotowire.com 48 minutes ago
    • Homers, drives in two in win
Morel went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Mets.

Advice: Morel hit an RBI single in the first inning then crushed a 446-foot solo home run in the third. Morel's .209 average so far in June is actually his highest of any month this season, and the homer was his fourth in 19 June games. The 24-year-old is hitting just .202 to date but does have 14 home runs and 43 RBI over 267 at-bats in 2024. Rotowire.com 51 minutes ago

    • Likely out 4-to-6 weeks
Marlins manager Skip Schumaker said that Luzardo, who was placed on the 15-day injured list earlier Saturday with a lumbar stress reaction, will likely be out for 4-to-6 weeks, the Associated Press reports.

Advice: Luzardo's back issue cropped up during his previous start last Sunday in Washington, but he had been on track to start Saturday's game against the Mariners until the Marlins scratched him a day in advance. He was moved to the IL a day later, with Schumaker confirming prior to Saturday's contest that the southpaw will be sidelined through at least the All-Star break with the injury. With the Marlins shaping up as non-contenders this season, Luzardo had been a sought-after name on the trade market, but his uncertain health could limit other teams' interest leading up to the July 30 deadline. Luzardo owns a 5.00 ERA over 12 starts on the season, but he's had shown improved form since late April with a 3.86 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 37:12 K:BB across 46.2 innings over his last eight outings. • Jazz Chisholm Jr. leaves game with tight biceps
Jazz Chisholm Jr. was removed from Saturday’s game against the Mariners due to tightness in his right biceps.

Advice: The 26-year-old outfielder had been 1-for-2 with a single and a strikeout when Vidal Brujan surprisingly hit for him in the sixth inning. The severity of the injury is not yet known, so be sure to check his status on Sunday. It may be wise for fantasy managers to have a contingency plan in place for next week in the event that Chisholm requires a trip to the injured list. Rotoworld Today, 5:12 pm
    • David Bednar (side) was unavailable on Saturday
Pirates’ manager Derek Shelton told reporters after Saturday’s victory that David Bednar was unavailable due to tightness in his left side.

Advice: It was surprising to see Aroldis Chapman close out a one-run victory for the Pirates against the Rays instead of Bednar, and now we know why. Shelton noted that he doesn’t believe the injury is anything serious, but Bednar’s status should be monitored over the coming days. Those speculating on saves in daily leagues could try to catch lightning in a bottle with Chapman. Rotoworld Today, 4:27 pm

    • Wasn't available Saturday
Bednar was unavailable for Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rays due to left side tightness, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Bednar missed out on a save chance Saturday as Aroldis Chapman stepped up in the ninth to close out the win. Bednar's absence was planned after feeling the tightness during his pregame throwing program but the injury isn't considered to be serious at this point. If he ends up missing more than just Saturday's game, expect Chapman to continue to see save chances. Rotowire.com Today, 4:18 pm

    • Christopher Morel wallops 446-foot homer in win
Christopher Morel went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI on Saturday, powering the Cubs to an 8-1 blowout victory over the Mets.

Advice: Morel contributed a run-scoring single as part of Chicago’s five-run opening frame against Mets starter Tylor Megill before clobbering a gargantuan 446-foot solo shot to left-center field -- his 14th round-tripper of the season -- a couple innings later. It was a much-needed tater for Morel, who hadn’t gone deep since June 11. Rotoworld Today, 2:19 pm

    • Tylor Megill lit up for six runs in loss to Cubs
Tylor Megill was shelled for six runs over three innings on Saturday in a loss to the Cubs.

Advice: Megill’s fastball velocity was down noticeably in this outing, which undoubtedly led to him getting roughed up pretty good. Here’s an oversimplification: Megill leans havily on his four-seam fastball, so any time he’s below 95 mph, which was the case in this one, he’s going to get hit pretty hard. He surrendered five hits, including a gargantuan solo shot to Christopher Morel, and only managed to complete three frames. He struck out six and also issued three walks. He’ll bring an underwhelming 4.81 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 43/16 K/BB ratio across 33 2/3 innings (seven starts) into a home outing next Saturday against the Astros. Rotoworld Today, 2:16 pm
    • Jazz Chisholm Jr. in Saturday’s lineup vs. M’s
Jazz Chisholm Jr. (hamstring) is in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Mariners.

Advice: Chisholm is back in center field for the second straight contest after being scratched earlier this week due to right hamstring tightness. It doesn’t look like it’s going to be an issue going forward, but fantasy managers should continue to keep a close eye on his status in the coming days. Rotoworld Today, 9:41 am
