      Advice: The homer was Fry's fourth in his last eight games. The 28-year-old has enjoyed a memorable May, going 23-for-60 (.383) with seven homers and 18 RBI over 21 contests for the month. He's slashing .352/.485/.629 with eight homers, 27 RBI, 27 runs scored and four stolen bases over 40 games this season. Fry offers a right-handed option at multiple positions, though he's unlikely to be needed in left field as much with Steven Kwan back from a hamstring injury.       Suarez picked up the save Friday against Kansas City. He pitched one-third of an inning with no strikeouts, allowing no runs on one hit.

      Advice: Suarez entered to collect the last out in a bases-loaded jam with a five-run lead. After yielding a two-RBI single to Freddy Fermin, the San Diego closer induced a Nelson Velazquez flyout to secure the win. Suarez is now tied with Emmanuel Clase for second in the majors with 17 saves, trailing Ryan Helsley by one.     • Robert Suárez gets one-out save against Royals
      Robert Suárez retired one of the two batters he faced for a save Friday against the Royals.

      Advice: The Padres were up 11-3 heading to the bottom of the ninth, but Stephen Kolek gave up hits to six of the eight batters he faced. That created a save situation for Suárez with the bases loaded in an 11-6 game. Suárez gave up a two-run single to the first batter he faced and then retired Nelson Velázquez for his 17th and easiest save of the year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:00 pm
       
    • James McArthur gives up four runs in blowing save
      James McArthur gave up four runs without retiring a batter in the eighth to take a blown save Friday against the Padres.

      Advice: Josh Schreiber, McArthur and Will Klein combined to give up nine runs in the eighth after the Royals entered the inning with a 3-2 lead. The good news for McArthur was that Schreiber, the Royals’ best alternative in the closer’s role, was pretty much equally ineffective tonight.     • Fans seven in win
      Bibee (4-1) allowed a run on three hits and a walk over 6.1 innings Friday, striking out seven and earning a win over the Nationals.

      Advice: Bibee dominated in six shutout frames before Washington finally pushed home a run in the seventh. He's turned in three straight quality starts, dropping his season ERA from 4.34 to 3.74 during that span. The 25-year-old righty has allowed two or fewer runs in seven of his first 12 starts.     • Luis Severino allows five runs, wins
      Luis Severino pitched 5 ⅓ innings on Friday against the Diamondbacks and four earned runs with four strikeouts and one walk in a win.

      Advice: Seeing the win is nice, but Severino wasn’t his best on Friday. His velocity was down a tick across the board as the Diamondbacks made plenty of hard contact. Yet, Severino didn’t allow an extra-base hit until the Eugenio Suárez home run that chased him from the game. Keep an eye on whether or not that velocity levels out in his next start.     • Tanner Bibee blazes past Nationals for win
      Tanner Bibee allowed one earned run across 6 ⅓ innings in a 7-1 win over the Nationals on Friday. He struck out seven and walked one.

      Advice: This was a tremendous start for Bibee mostly fueled by increased fastball velocity. His heater ticked up to 98 MPH and averaged 95.5 MPH, but tailed off in the seventh inning as the Nationals started to get around on him. This was the second time in three starts Bibee’s fastball averaged at least 95.5 MPH and keeping the velocity on that pitch up is the key to his success. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:40 pm
       
    • David Fry stays hot, homers again
      David Fry went 1-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and a walk in a win over the Nationals on Friday.

      Advice: What else is there to say about Fry? This long ball was his third in six games and it’s getting more and more difficult to deny his blazing hot start.     • Luis Robert Jr. (hip) expected to return next week
      Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun Times believes that Luis Robert Jr. (hip) will return to the White Sox’ lineup on Tuesday.

      Advice: The 26-year-old superstar is currently on a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Charlotte, where he received a planned day off on Thursday.
