    • Jameson Taillon fans 10 in dominant win over Mets
Jameson Taillon recorded 10 strikeouts and allowed one run over six innings on Saturday in a win over the Mets.

Advice: Taillon was staked to a five-run cushion by the outset of the second inning and was able to cruise to his fourth victory of the season, setting a new season-high in the strikeout department in the process. A fifth-inning solo shot by Mets emerging star Francisco Alvarez was the lone blemish over six stellar frames as he induced 15 swinging strikes and finished with a robust 34 percent CSW. The 32-year-old righty has allowed two earned runs or fewer, while also completing six innings, in each of his las three starts dating back to June 11. He’ll bring a solid 2.90 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 53/16 K/BB ratio across 68 1/3 innings (12 starts) into a road tilt on Thursday against the Giants at pitcher-friendly Oracle Park. • Kenta Maeda allows three runs Saturday in loss
Kenta Maeda was charged with three runs over 4 2/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the White Sox.

Advice: Maeda was pretty sharp in this one as he carried a shutout into the fourth inning before giving up a pair of runs. He was tagged for an additional run in the ensuing frame following his exit from the contest. Unfortunately, he didn’t get much run support from Detroit’s lineup and was saddled with a loss. He struck out five and didn’t hand out a free pass. He’ll bring an inflated 6.00 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 41/18 K/BB ratio across 54 innings (13 starts) into a road matchup on Thursday against the Angels. • Called up ahead of Saturday start
The Marlins recalled Anderson from Triple-A Jacksonville ahead of his start Saturday against the Mariners.

Advice: He'll be joining the rotation as a replacement for Jesus Luzardo (back), who was initially slated to start Saturday before being scratched and placed on the 15-day injured list. Luzardo is set to miss at least two turns through the rotation, but Anderson may need to pitch effectively Saturday to earn himself any starts beyond Saturday. Since being acquired from the Rangers on May 30, the 29-year-old righty has previously made one spot start for Miami, giving up seven runs (four earned) on nine hits in two innings in a June 14 loss to the Nationals. • Marlins recall Shaun Anderson for Saturday start
Marlins recalled RHP Shaun Anderson from Triple-A Jacksonville.

Advice: Anderson draws the starting assignment for Saturday’s game against the Mariners in place of an injured Jesús Luzardo, who is headed to the injured list with a back ailment. The 29-year-old righty was torched for seven runs over two-plus innings last Friday in a spot start against the Nationals. Simply put, he’s not a recommended fantasy option. • Royals activate Michael Wacha for Saturday start
Royals activated RHP Michael Wacha from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Wacha will take the ball for Saturday’s matchup against the defending World Series champions at Globe Life Field following a three-weeks absence due to a fractured left foot. The 32-year-old righty has recorded a serviceable 4.24 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 56/20 K/BB ratio across 68 innings (12 starts) this season in his Kansas City debut. Rotoworld Today, 8:57 am

    • Reinstated from IL
The Royals reinstated Wacha (foot) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his start against the Rangers on Saturday.

Advice: Wacha was placed on the injured list June 2 due to a non-dispalced left foot fracture he sustained on a comebacker against the Padres on May 31. He made one rehab start in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on Monday, allowing two hits and no walks while striking out six over four scoreless innings. To make room for Wacha, right-hander Steven Cruz was optioned to Triple-A Omaha in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 8:38 am

    • Set to start Saturday
Anderson will be called up from Triple-A Jacksonville to start Saturday's game against the Mariners, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Anderson made his first big-league start of the season June 14 and gave up four earned runs across only two innings. The 29-year-old righty has a 2.51 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 31:4 K:BB through 28.2 Triple-A innings over six starts this season, but he hasn't worked more than four innings in an outing at any level since joining the Marlins' organization at the end of May. He'll fill the rotation spot of Jesus Luzardo (back). Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:40 pm

    • Patrick Sandoval exits game with forearm tightness
Patrick Sandoval was removed from Friday night’s start against the Dodgers in the third inning due to left forearm tightness.

Advice: Sandoval delivered a pitch to Shohei Ohtani and immediately knew something was wrong and signaled for the training staff. He’ll almost assuredly undergo an MRI exam to determine the severity of the issue, but it’s likely that a lengthy stint on the injury list is upcoming. The Angels should have a better idea of his status on Saturday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:34 pm
    • Dealing with forearm issue
Sandoval exited Friday's start against the Dodgers with left forearm tightness.

Advice: Sandoval was pulled abruptly in the third inning after issuing a walk to Shohei Ohtani. A timeline for Sandoval's return isn't available, but it would come as a significant surprise if he doesn't land on the injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:30 pm
