    • Jack Flaherty to have next start pushed back
      Tigers manager A.J. Hinch told reporters Sunday that Jack Flaherty will have his next start pushed back.

      Advice: Flaherty was excellent on Friday in a win over the White Sox and the Tigers simply want to give him some extra rest before taking the ball again since he’s been pitching through a lingering back issue. The 28-year-old righty was slated to take the ball during Wednesday’s series finale against the Phillies, but is going to get at least one additional rest day instead.     • Hit hard Saturday
      Berrios (6-6) allowed five runs on six hits and one walk while striking out three over five innings to take the loss Saturday versus the Guardians.

      Advice: The Guardians aren't known for power, but they tagged Berrios with three home runs -- Bo Naylor, Jose Ramirez and Steven Kwan all took the right-hander deep. With seven homers allowed over his last four starts, Berrios' trouble with the long ball is becoming a concern. He's given up 14 runs across 22.2 innings in that span and now has a 3.43 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 68:23 K:BB through 97 innings across 16 starts this season.     • Berrios allows five runs in loss against Guardians
      Jose Berrios allowed five runs in five innings and took the loss against the Guardians on Saturday.



      Advice: Berrios gave up six hits, walked one and struck out three. Home runs have been a problem for Berrios this year and he allowed three more of them on Saturday. He’s now allowed a total of 17 home runs in 16 starts. His 1.58 HR/9 would be a career-high. The 30-year-old right-hander is set to face the Yankees at home next weekend.

    • Moving rehab to Triple-A
      Ray (elbow) will make a rehab appearance for Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Ray pitched 1.2 innings during his most recent appearance in rookie ball, and he's slated to stretch out to three innings Sunday.       Diaz gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to record his 17th save of the season in a 5-2 win over the Red Sox.

      Advice: The right-hander has mostly put his rough start to the season behind him. Diaz has converted 10 straight save chances over his last 12 appearances, posting a 2.31 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 12:6 K:BB through 11.2 innings during that stretch.     • Alexiz Díaz converts 11th straight save chanceg
      Alexis Díaz worked a scoreless ninth for his 17th save Friday against the Red Sox.

      Advice: Díaz has converted 10 straight save chances, even though he’s had a few hiccups during the run. His 5.08 ERA and 29/19 K/BB ratio in 28 1/3 innings still don’t inspire a ton of confidence, but things are certainly looking up from a few weeks ago. Rotoworld Friday, 10:41 pm

      Duran (3-3) allowed two runs on two hits and struck out one over one inning Friday, taking the loss and a blown save versus the Athletics.

      Advice: Duran served up a two-run home run to Shea Langeliers after being called upon to protect a 5-4 lead in the eighth inning. This was Duran's first blown save of the year -- he's converted 11 saves and added four holds over 24 appearances. The closer has a 3.91 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 21:8 K:BB through 23 innings.     • Jhoan Duran blows save in eighth against A’s
      Jhoan Duran blew a save while allowing two runs and also picked up a loss to the A’s on Friday.

      Advice: Duran has lost three games in 2024, but this was technically his first blown save of the year. The right-hander came in during the eighth, but gave up a hit to Daz Cameron and then a two-run blast to Shea Langeliers. A disappointing effort for fantasy teams and the Twins, but Duran should still be counted on going forward. Rotoworld Friday, 9:09 pm
       
    • Strikes out eight in win
      Flaherty (5-4) earned the win against the White Sox on Friday, allowing one run on five hits and two walks with eight strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

      Advice: Flaherty threw four scoreless innings before surrendering a solo home run to Tommy Pham in the fifth. He then allowed a hit and a walk with two outs in the sixth before being pulled just shy of a quality start at 98 pitches. The home run was the first earned run Flaherty has allowed since May 23, and the pitch count was encouraging considering he was limited to 73 pitches in his last outing following a back injury. On the season, he owns a 2.92 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 108:13 K:BB over 83.1 innings and tentatively lines up to face the Phillies next week. Rotowire.com Friday, 6:30 pm
