      Advice: Neris took the mound in the top of the ninth during a 2-2 ballgame and fired off a scoreless inning, eventually earning the win after the Cubs put up three runs in the 10th. Since taking over closing duties from Adbert Alzolay, Neris has converted all six of his save chances and has earned a pair of wins.       Advice: Bogaerts gave the Padres some extra breathing room with a solo shot off Gus Varland in the fifth. The long ball was his first since April 21, his first RBI since April 25 and his first hit in 17 at-bats since May 6. Bogaerts is still searching for a spark offensively this season, as he's slashing just .211/.264/.301 with three homers, 12 RBI, 22 runs and a 12:36 BB:K in 178 plate appearances.       Garcia went 1-for-5 with a stolen base in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Angels.

      Advice: Garcia has hit safely in eight of 11 games in May, going 12-for-47 (.255) with four doubles, four RBI and five runs scored. His steal Sunday was his first of the month and his ninth of the season, and he's yet to be caught stealing. The third baseman is slashing .238/.290/.375 with four home runs, 24 RBI and 20 runs scored over 184 plate appearances. While Garcia hasn't profiled as an ideal leadoff hitter, he's done enough to keep that spot through the first quarter of the campaign in a fairly strong lineup.       Advice: Quality of opponent aside, Lugo was excellent Sunday. He landed 77 of his 112 pitches for strikes and recorded double-digit strikeouts for the first time this season. It was also his first start without issuing a walk. The right-hander is now at a 1.66 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 48:12 K:BB through 59.2 innings over nine starts. Lugo's had good moments both as a starter and a reliever in his career, but his start to 2024 is a completely new level for the 34-year-old.       Seth Lugo delivered a dominant performance in Sunday’s victory over the Angels, racking up a career-high 12 strikeouts over eight innings of one-run baseball.

      Advice: The 34-year-old right-hander scattered just five hits on the afternoon and didn’t walk a single batter. The only blemish on his day came in the form of a run-scoring double off the bat of Willie Calhoun in the sixth inning, otherwise he was masterful. Lugo generated a whopping 17 swings and misses on 112 pitches in the ballgame — eight of those on his curveball — while registering an elite CSW of 38 percent. He has been unbelievable for the Royals this season, posting a 6-1 record, 1.66 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and a 48/12 K/BB ratio over 59 2/3 innings in his first nine starts. He noted that he felt good after the throwing session Sunday, and he could return from the IL when first eligible May 21.
