    • Homers, plates two in loss
Rooker went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Sunday's loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Rooker stayed hot at the plate with his fourth multi-hit effort in his last five game and second home run over that span as well. Since the start of May, Rooker is slashing .441/.525/.882 with four homers, 12 RBI, 11 runs and a 6:7 BB:K in 40 plate appearances. He's now up to 10 long balls on the year and is one of 10 players with double digit home runs thus far. Rooker also owns a .632 slugging percentage and 1.012 OPS, both of which would rank third in baseball if he had enough plate appearances to qualify. Rotowire.com 45 minutes ago

    • Brent Rooker goes deep as A’s fall to Mariners
Brent Rooker socked his 10th dinger of the season on Sunday as the Athletics fell to the Mariners in Seattle.

Advice: The 29-year-old outfielder clubbed a 411-foot (113.4 mph EV) two-run shot off of Cody Bolton in the eighth inning, pulling the A’s to within four runs at 8-4. He also singled in the ballgame, finishing the day 2-for-4. On the season, he’s hitting an impressive .292/.380/.632 with 10 homers, 27 RBI and a pair of stolen bases for good measure. • Rebounds with seven scoreless
Verlander (2-1) earned the win after he pitched seven scoreless innings, giving up two hits and two walks while striking out eight batters in Sunday's 9-3 victory over the Tigers.

Advice: Verlander was back to being sharp Sunday, limiting Detroit to just four baserunners while recording a season-high eight punchouts. The 41-year-old was coming off of allowing seven runs over five innings against the Yankees on Tuesday, but he rebounded with his third quality start over five outings in 2024. Verlander now owns a 3.38 ERA with 23 strikeouts over 29.1 innings this season, and his next projected start is set to come Friday at home versus the Brewers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:40 pm
    • Justin Verlander fans eight in taming Tigers
Justin Verlander blanked the Tigers for seven innings and struck out eight in the Astros’ 9-3 victory Sunday.

Advice: Despite never throwing a pitch over 95 mph, Verlander induced eight pop outs and allowed just two hard-hit balls in a masterclass today. It’s the 50th time in his 514 career starts that he’s pitched at least seven innings and gone without allowing a run. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:04 pm
    • Jazz Chisholm picks up two hits in win over Phillies
Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, and an RBI in a win over the Phillies.

Advice: Jazz laced a 102 mph double off of Zack Wheeler in the third inning that got a three-run inning started and later tripled off Wheeler in the fourth inning to drive in a run. The Marlins’ leadoff hitter had hits in every game but one this week, going 8-for-23 with a home run, a steal, and two RBI. He also only scored three runs all week despite those stats, so the Marlins’ inconsistent offense is going to impact his fantasy value a bit going forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:15 pm

    • Aaron Judge homers in win over Rays
Aaron Judge went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in a 10-6 win over the Rays on Sunday.

Advice: Judge’s homer was a 374-foot shot that left the bat at 106.7 mph. In fact, Judge had three of the five hardest-hit balls of the day, including a 109.9 mph single in the first inning and a 106.7 mph flyout in the eighth inning that had a .770 xBA and would have been a home run in 10 MLB stadiums. The Yankees slugger is not off to a great start to the season, but he went 7-for-21 this week with three home runs and seven RBI, so perhaps he’s starting to feel like himself a bit. • Another multi-hit performance
Rooker went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's win over Seattle while also drawing a walk.

Advice: Rooker singled in each of his first two at-bats, with the latter one driving home Brett Harris to put the A's on top 2-1. The right fielder would also draw a walk in the eighth before stealing second and coming around to score Oakland's fifth run of the game on a Max Schuemann double. Rooker has now hit safely in five straight games and has recorded multiple hits in three of his last four overall, posting one homer, four RBI and five runs scored over that latter stretch. • Two hits, two stolen bases in loss
Witt went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases in Saturday's loss to the Angels.

Advice: Witt scored Kansas City's first run of the game after reaching on an infield single and stealing second, coming home on a double from Salvador Perez. The star shortstop would later drive in a run with another single in the sixth before stealing his second base of the contest, though he was then thrown out trying to steal third. Witt has now recorded multiple hits in five of 10 games this month. He's batting .314 over that stretch with four RBI, 12 runs and six stolen bases. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:39 am
    • Surrenders seven runs in loss
Ragans (2-3) took the loss against the Angels on Saturday, allowing seven runs on eight hits and one walk over 6.1 innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Ragans first ran into trouble in the top of the second after surrendering a leadoff triple to Kevin Pillar to open the frame, which would eventually lead to three runs coming home for Los Angeles. The lefty would also surrender runs in the third and seventh innings, with the final two of those runs coming across after he was relieved by Nick Anderson. Ragans had given up two runs or fewer in each of his last three starts coming in, but ended up matching his season high with seven runs allowed in Saturday's loss. On a positive note, he's now managed to go at least six innings in three consecutive outings, posting a 20:6 K:BB over that stretch. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:31 am
