    • Lifts homer in win
Gimenez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 7-0 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Gimenez had gone 0-for-15 with one walk and a stolen base over his previous four games. He snapped the skid with a fourth-inning solo shot, his second homer of the year. The second baseman is at a .242/.307/.342 slash line with 20 RBI, 20 runs scored and five stolen bases through 38 contests. He's remained in the No. 2 spot in the order versus right-handers since Steven Kwan (hamstring) went on the injured list, but the Guardians haven't gotten much hitting from the trio of Estevan Florial, Brayan Rocchio or Tyler Freeman, who had all gotten looks at leadoff in that span. As such, Gimenez's chances to produce RBI will likely be down in the near term. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:35 pm
    • Converts for save No. 7
Jansen picked up the save Sunday against Washington, allowing one hit and no walks over a scoreless ninth inning. He didn't log a strikeout.

Advice: Jansen got an assist from catcher Connor Wong, who ended the game by throwing out Jacob Young during an attempted steal of second base. The 36-year-old has converted on seven of his eight save chances, owning a 2.63 ERA with 19 strikeouts over 13.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:11 pm

    • Struggles versus Miami
Wheeler pitched four innings, allowing six runs on six hits and three walks while striking out two batters in Sunday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Marlins. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Wheeler didn't have his best stuff Sunday, matching a season-high six hits given up while the two strikeouts were a season low. Most notably, the right-hander gave up a three-run homer to Josh Bell in the bottom of the third inning, which was only the fourth long ball surrendered by Wheeler in 2024. The 33-year-old still owns an impressive 2.53 ERA and 0.99 WHIP with 65 strikeouts over 53.1 innings in nine starts this season, and his next projected outing is set to come Friday at home versus the Nationals. • Jackson Chourio goes 0-for-2 in return to lineup
After sitting out four straight games, Jackson Chourio went 0-for-2 with a walk in his return to the lineup Sunday against the Cardinals.

Advice: Chourio had a nicely hit liner, but it was caught by Brandon Crawford at short. The Brewers could have sent Chourio down last week, but they thought the break to work on things was a better idea. One imagines he’ll have to turn things around over the next 7-10 days in order to avoid a stint in Triple-A. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:46 pm

    • Corbin Carroll has two hits against Orioles
Corbin Carroll went 2-for-5 with a double in a 9-2 win over the Orioles on Sunday.

Advice: The effort put Carroll over the Mendoza Line on the season, as the 23-year-old is now hitting .201/.287/.266. Perhaps more encouraging, both of Carroll’s hits left the bat at over 100 mph. There are still real concerns about his ability to lift and drive the ball, and his home run projections all feel a bit high, but it’s nice to see him making authoritative contact. • Kenley Jansen locks down seventh save in win
Kenley Jansen threw a scoreless ninth inning in a 3-2 win over the Nationals to secure a save.

Advice: The save was Jansen’s seventh on the season, and the veteran now has a 2.63 ERA on the year. He’s still likely to be moved by the trade deadline, but he figures to get a shot to close no matter where he goes, so he remains a rock-solid fantasy asset. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:52 pm

    • Zack Wheeler tagged by Marlins on Sunday
Zack Wheeler allowed six runs on six hits in four innings in a no-decision against the Marlins on Sunday.

Advice: Wheeler allowed seven hard-hit balls in just four innings of work, including a three-run homer to Josh Bell. He posted just a 12 percent whiff rate and 15 percent CSW and was only able to land his sinker in the strike zone 32 percent of the time. It feels like just an off-game for Wheeler, whose velocity was fine. He’ll carry a 2.53 ERA into next week’s start against the Nationals. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:11 pm
    • Held out for third straight game
Carter (back) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: With lefty Austin Gomber starting for Colorado in Friday's 4-2 loss, Carter was held out of the starting nine, but he logged an at-bat off the bench as a pinch-hitter. He may have tweaked his back at some point during that appearance, however, as he'll remain on the bench for a third straight day. Robbie Grossman will fill in for the banged-up Carter in left field. • Evan Carter out again Sunday with back stiffness
Evan Carter (back) is not in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Rockies.

Advice: Carter was scratched from the lineup Saturday with stiffness in his lower back, and the 21-year-old will miss at least one more game. Robbie Grossman is hitting sixth and starting in left field in Carter’s absence. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:28 am
