    • Playing catch
Manager Brian Snitker said Thursday that Minter (hip) has been playing catch with no issues and will pitch an inning at some point next week, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: The team has not yet determined whether or not Minter's next step will come during live batting practice or in a minor-league rehab game. Either way, it seems likely that the 30-year-old southpaw will be able to return to Atlanta's bullpen when eligible in mid-June. Rotowire.com Thursday, 2:44 pm

    • Improves to 6-0
Neris (6-0) worked around a walk to toss a scoreless ninth inning and earn the win in Wednesday's 7-6 victory over the White Sox. He struck out two.

Advice: Neris found himself in a similar spot to Tuesday night, when he managed to shut the White Sox down and earn the save. In each game, speedy pinch runner Duke Ellis swiped second base to apply some pressure, but the veteran reliever escaped without allowing any runs both times. Neris isn't missing many bats, as his K/9 is down from 10.1 last season to 7.8 this year, but he's still been effective. Neris should have plenty of fantasy value as long as he remains the closer in Chicago. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:26 pm

    • Héctor Neris earns win with scoreless ninth
Héctor Neris struck out two batters in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the win against the White Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: Neris took the mound in the ninth inning of a tie game against the White Sox. He struck out the first two batters and worked around a walk to send it to the bottom of the inning before Mike Tauchman walked it off with a home run to give Neris the win. The 34-year-old right-hander is up to six wins and eight saves with a 2.74 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, and a 20/17 K/BB ratio across 23 innings. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:13 pm

    • Cody Bradford (back) throwing from 120 feet
Cody Bradford (back) is now throwing from a distance of 120 feet as he continues to work his way back from a stress fracture.

Advice: The 26-year-old southpaw is reportedly feeling much better than he was prior to being shut down. There’s still no clear timeline for a potential return, but he should be ready for bullpen work soon. If he’s able to avoid any additional setbacks, he could be an option for the Rangers around the All-Star break. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:48 pm

    • Next start pushed back
Crawford's next scheduled start will be pushed back to early next week against the Phillies, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Crawford's next turn comes up Sunday versus the White Sox, but the Red Sox want to give him some extra rest given his recent struggles (he's allowed four or more earned runs in four of his last five starts). Boston is expected to go with a bullpen game Sunday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:55 am

    • Red Sox may push back Kutter Crawford’s start
The Red Sox are looking at going with a bullpen game on Sunday and pushing Kutter Crawford’s next start back to Tuesday.

Advice: Bad news for those hoping Crawford would bounce back against the White Sox. He’ll instead face the Phillies if the Red Sox follow through on this, though at least he’d be doing so on six days’ rest instead of four. The Red Sox are off Monday, which makes the bullpen game a little more feasible. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:45 am

    • Notches another save Tuesday
Neris worked around a walk to toss a scoreless ninth inning and record the save in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Neris ceded a one-out walk, then watched pinch runner Duke Ellis swipe second. However, the veteran reliever picked off Ellis to shut down any chance of a rally by the White Sox. Neris now has eight saves in 10 chances this season to go with a solid 2.86 ERA. He's earned a little job security as the Cubs' closer given his strong play, particularly with Opening Day closer Adbert Alzolay (forearm) on the 60-day IL. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:45 pm

    • Kutter Crawford has another rough start in loss
Kutter Crawford allowed six runs (four earned) on five hits in six innings in a loss to the Braves on Tuesday.

Advice: Crawford has now allowed 15 earned runs in 16 1/3 innings in his last three starts. However, those starts were also against the Brewers, Braves, and Orioles. He was never going to carry over the 1.75 ERA he had over his first eight starts, but he’s also not pitching as poorly of late as those earned runs totals would indicate. He induced 12 whiffs on 51 swings for a 24 percent whiff rate on the day and lines up for a much better start against the White Sox this weekend. He should still be rostered and started in almost all formats. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:22 pm

    • Hit hard by Atlanta
Crawford (2-5) took the loss Tuesday against Atlanta, allowing six runs (four earned) on five hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out five.

Advice: The right-hander surrendered three extra-base hits Tuesday, which resulted in five of the six runs scored by Atlanta while Crawford was on the mound. Ozzie Albies and Jarred Kelenic came around to score after hitting doubles before Albies went yard on a three-run blast in the sixth inning. Tuesday's start was the latest in a rough patch for the 28-year-old Crawford, who's allowed four or more earned runs in four of his last five showings. During that span, Crawford is 0-4 with a 6.43 ERA across 28.0 innings. However, a road start against the White Sox on Sunday could be exactly what he needs to get back on track.
