    • Bounces back with quality start
Crawford (2-1) earned the win over San Francisco on Wednesday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out six batters over seven innings.

Advice: Crawford took his first loss of the campaign his previous time out when he allowed season highs of four runs (three earned) and 10 hits against the Cubs. The right-hander got back on track with a strong outing Wednesday, notching his third quality start and second victory of the season. Crawford has been outstanding for the Red Sox early in the campaign, ranking fifth among qualified starters with a 1.56 ERA through 40.1 innings. He's added a 40:13 K:BB and 1.07 WHIP to emerge as one of the league's most pleasant surprises thus far. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:10 pm

    • Notches another save
Neris worked around a hit to pitch a scoreless ninth inning and record the save in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Mets.

Advice: Shota Imanaga dominated the Mets across seven innings, and then Neris shut things down to secure his fifth save of the season. The veteran righty has pitched well since taking over closing duties from Adbert Alzolay, as Neris has allowed just one earned run over his last five appearances, lowering his season ERA to 3.27. While things could change at some point, it looks like Neris is locked in as the closer in Chicago for now. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:15 pm
    • Kutter Crawford fans six in victory over Giants
Kutter Crawford delivered a strong performance in Wednesday night’s victory over the Giants, allowing two runs on four hits over his seven frames.

Advice: Crawford punched out six batters on the evening while surrendering a pair of free passes. He served up a solo homer to Tom Murphy leading off the third inning, then allowed an RBI bunt single to Mike Yastrzemski in the fourth inning. That was the extent of the damage against him. Crawford got 12 swings and misses on 92 pitches in the contest, six on his cutter, while registering a CSW of 29 percent. Now 2-1 on the season, he’ll carry a brilliant 1.56 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and a 40/13 K/BB ratio (40 1/3 innings) into a tough matchup against the Braves in Atlanta on Tuesday. • Héctor Neris holds on for fifth save Wednesday
Héctor Neris worked a scoreless ninth inning for the save against the Mets on Wednesday.

Advice: Neris was summoned in the ninth inning to close out the game with a one-run lead. He recorded one out, then hit a batter and gave up a double to put the tying run on third and the go-ahead run in scoring position. Jeff McNeil hit a fly out and Pete Alonso was tagged out at home to end the game. Neris is up to five saves despite some shaky outings. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:55 pm
    • Mediocre results versus former team
Martinez (0-2) took the loss Tuesday against the Padres, allowing five runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk while striking out three over five innings.

Advice: The Padres first got to Martinez in the third with a run and then would plate four more in the fifth with a bases loaded double by Manny Machado being the big hit in the inning. It hasn't been smooth sailing for Martinez to begin his tenure with the Reds, as he's given up at least three runs and six hits in all four of his starts thus far while managing to get to six innings once. The 33-year-old owns a 5.46 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 20:3 K:BB in 28 innings. If Frankie Montas (forearm) is able to return when first eligible next week then it's likely Martinez returns to a long relief role in the bullpen for the foreseeable future. • Nick Martinez charged with five runs in defeat
Nick Martinez yielded five runs — three earned — in five innings Tuesday in a loss to the Padres.

Advice: Martinez didn’t put together much of a revenge game against his former team, though he probably deserved better during a four-run fifth inning. The loss left him 0-2 with a 5.46 ERA. He’s due to make at least one more start before Frankie Montas returns and sends him back to middle relief. Rotoworld Tuesday, 10:05 pm

    • AJ Minter allows walk-off homer to blow save
AJ Minter blew a save by allowing two runs without recording an out Monday against Seattle while picking up a loss.

Advice: Minter was handed a one-run lead, and the southpaw allowed a base hit to Jorge Polanco before Mitch Garver took the southpaw deep on a 3-2 pitch to give Seattle the win. Minter has been an excellent high-leverage option for Atlanta, but this one will hurt fantasy managers who have the 30-year-old on the roster. Rotoworld Monday, 9:15 pm

    • Secures fourth save
Neris worked around two walks to pitch a clean ninth inning and record the save in Monday's 3-1 win over the Mets. He struck out two.

Advice: Neris put a few runners on base, but he got out of trouble to secure his fourth save of the season. All of those saves have come in the last nine days, which coincides with Adbert Alzolay getting removed from the closer's role. The more success Neris has moving forward, the firmer his grip will get on the job, which will only increase his fantasy value. The veteran is the top Chicago reliever to target at the moment. • Héctor Neris notches fourth save Monday vs. Mets
Héctor Neris tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Monday against the Mets to record his fourth save of the season.

Advice: Neris continues to tighten his hold on Chicago’s closing role, converting four of his five save chances, including three in the last week alone since Adbert Alzolay was removed from the late-inning mix. The 34-year-old righty has allowed just one run over his last seven appearances since April 13. At this point, he should be rostered in all fantasy leagues. Rotoworld Monday, 6:27 pm
