    • Jordan Romano to resume throwing on Monday
Jordan Romano (elbow) is scheduled to resume throwing on Monday.

Advice: Blue Jays manager John Schneider added that Romano received an anti-inflammatory injection in his right elbow last weekend. It’s going to take a couple weeks for the 31-year-old closer to build up his arm strength before returning to Toronto’s bullpen, but it’s an encouraging sign that he’s been cleared to resume throwing again. • Robert Gasser heading for third opinion on elbow
Robert Gasser will get a third opinion on his left elbow in the coming days.

Advice: Gasser will visit specialist Dr. Keith Meister in the cominf days after a second opinion on his left elbow revealed durability issues with his UCL. It doesn’t sound like the 25-year-old rookie southpaw is dealing with a tear or serious damage, but there’s enough of an issue that it might be worth undergoing surgery now instead of the rest and rehabilitation route. There should finally be some clarity on his status at some point in the next week or so. Rotoworld 8 minutes ago

    • Andrés Muñoz available in relief this weekend
Andrés Muñoz (back) is available for Saturday’s game against the Royals.

Advice: Muñoz has been dealing with a back strain that he tweaked during an on-field collision earlier this week and appears ready to return this weekend after getting through a couple bullpen sessions without any issues. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago
    • DFA'd by Rox
The Rockies designated Carasiti for assignment Saturday.

Advice: After getting lit up for five earned runs in just 1.1 innings over his last two appearances, Carasiti will be jettisoned from Colorado's active roster. He owns a 7.41 ERA and 1.89 WHIP through 58.1 career MLB innings and will likely pass through waivers unclaimed. Rotowire.com 19 minutes ago
    • Goes four frames in rehab start
Miller (shoulder) tossed four-plus innings in a rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out two batters.

Advice: This was Miller's third minor-league rehab appearance, and he's gradually worked up from three frames in his first rehab outing to four innings Friday. The righty hurler wasn't at his sharpest, but he approached a full workload with 85 pitches and sat at 97-98 mph with his fastball, per Eric Stephen of SBNation.com, after experiencing reduced velocity in his prior outing. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said prior to Miller's outing Friday that it could be the pitcher's final minor-league appearance before returning to the big club, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, but a decision on Miller's next step has not yet been announced. He's struggled throughout his rehab stint, collecting a 6.97ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 6:5 K:BB across 10.1 frames. Rotowire.com 30 minutes ago

    • Dean Kremer (triceps) might skip rehab assignment
Dean Kremer (triceps) will throw a bullpen session this week.

Advice: Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters Kremer is trending in the right direction and they’ll wait until after his next throwing session before determining whether he’ll require a minor league rehab assignment. The 28-year-old righty hit the injured list back in late May with a triceps strain. Rotoworld 49 minutes ago

    • Rockies designate Matt Carasiti for assignment
Rockies designated RHP Matt Carasiti for assignment.

Advice: Carasiti has been jettisoned from Colorado’s 40-man roster after surrendering five runs over his last two relief appearances this week against the Cardinals. The 32-year-old righty reliever holds a calamitous 10.38 ERA, 2.19 WHIP and 7/3 K/BB ratio across 8 2/3 innings (seven appearances) this season in the majors. Rotoworld 53 minutes ago
    • Recalled to Atlanta
Atlanta recalled Hernandez from Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday.

Advice: With Jimmy Herget (shoulder) headed for the injured list, Hernandez will rejoin Atlanta's bullpen to replenish the team's bullpen depth. The 27-year-old righty appeared in two games during his first big-league stint earlier in the year, throwing two scoreless innings while striking out one batter and walking one. He boasts a 2.29 ERA in 19.2 frames at Triple-A and figures to be used in middle relief while in Atlanta. Rotowire.com 54 minutes ago
    • Steven Matz to make rehab start Tuesday at Double-A
Steven Matz (back) will make another minor league rehab start on Tuesday for Double-A Springfield.

Advice: Matz struck out two over a pair of scoreless frames on Thursday in his rehab assignment debut for Triple-A Memphis and will continue building up his pitch count and stamina this upcoming week in the minors. The 33-year-old lefty has been out since mid-May recovering from a back injury. Rotoworld 55 minutes ago
