    • Kyle Tucker out through All-Star Break
According to the Houston Chronicle, Kyle Tucker (shin) and Justin Verlander (neck) will both be out through the All-Star break.

Advice: Tucker’s long absence with a shin bruise will continue. It’s fair to wonder if there’s something more going on here, but Tucker will remain out for at least another two weeks through the All-Star game on July 16th. Both Astros fans and fantasy managers hope that will be enough time to get Tucker back on the field on July 19th. Rotoworld 24 minutes ago

    • Nabs fifth steal
Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Goldschmidt's midseason resurgence has continued into July -- he's opened the month with a pair of multi-hit efforts. He's batting .262 with six extra-base hits and two steals over his last 15 contests. The first baseman is at a .230/.297/.368 slash line with 11 home runs, five steals, 12 doubles, 33 RBI and 40 runs scored through 82 games overall, though his recent play is an encouraging sign for the second half. • Out through All-Star break
Astros manager Joe Espada said Thursday that Tucker (lower leg) won't return from the injured list before the All-Star break, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The 27-year-old saw his recovery progress from the lower leg bruise pick up this week, but he won't be back before the midseason festivities. Tucker has been on the injured list nearly a month and could require a rehab assignment before being cleared for major-league action. Rotowire.com Today, 9:15 am

    • Not starting Wednesday
Thomas isn't in Arizona's lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Dodgers, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Advice: Thomas went 0-for-3 with a walk Tuesday in his first game back from a three-month stint on the injured list, and he'll take a seat on the bench Wednesday as he eases his way back into regular playing time in Arizona's outfield. Corbin Carroll will shift to center field while Thomas rests, opening up right field for Jake McCarthy. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:38 pm

    • Josh Jung won’t return until after All-Star break
Rangers’ manager Bruce Bochy told reporters on Wednesday that Josh Jung (wrist) will be shut down until next week to rest his injured wrist.

Advice: The Rangers are hopeful that after resting for a few days that he’ll be ready to go out on a minor league rehab assignment. While it’s not a major setback, it does mean that Jung won’t rejoin the Rangers until after the All-Star break. Fantasy managers will have to continue practicing patience in the meantime. • Out through All-Star break
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday that Jung will be shut down until next week to allow his right wrist to rest, and the third baseman will not return until after the All-Star break, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

Advice: Jung had his swing test Saturday cancelled due to soreness in his right wrist. While a specialist confirmed that there is no structural damage, the lingering pain has kept Jung from swinging a bat since June 20. The hope for Jung is that the extended rest will allow the pain in his wrist to subside long enough to resume swinging a bat before ramping up through a rehab assignment. The 26-year-old appeared in just four games at the beginning of the season before sustaining a fractured right wrist due to being hit by a pitch in early April. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:33 pm

    • Not in Wednesday's lineup
Alvarez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Alvarez started the first two games of the series but will sit Wednesday after going 3-for-10 with a double, a triple, three RBI and six strikeouts. Luis Torrens will handle the catching duties for rookie righty Christian Scott. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:58 pm
    • Brandon Nimmo (head) returns to lineup Wednesday
Brandon Nimmo (head) returned to the Mets’ starting lineup on Wednesday.

Advice: Nimmo was held out of the team’s starting lineup each of the previous two games after suffering a forehead laceration when he fell in his hotel room on Sunday. He did appear off the bench in Tuesday’s game though and is right back out there in left field and batting second against Mitchell Parker and the Nationals on Wednesday evening in Washington.
